Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi "has the D." Greg Sandoval/Business Insider A new internal policy at Uber meant to increase efficiency in meetings has left some employees scratching their heads. In a memo obtained by Business Insider, CEO Dara Khosrowshahi encouraged employees to say that they "have the D" when they have the authority to make decisions in meetings. A new policy at Uber enacted by CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has some employees at the $62 billion ride-hailing startup bewildered by what they're hearing in meetings. In a May 15 memo obtained by Business Insider, Khosrowshahi describes a new company policy designed to eliminate "bureaucracy creep," at the growing company. "While our scale and scope are … [Read more...] about Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi insists that leaders say they ‘have the D’ in meetings—and bewildered employees aren’t sure if he gets the other meaning

It’s not just mentally, emotionally, and spiritually draining; it can physically impact health.Global nonprofit Catalyst defines this as an Emotional Tax: “… the heightened experience of being different from peers at work because of your gender and/or race/ethnicity and the associated detrimental effects on health, well-being, and the ability to thrive at work.”Examples of Emotional TaxSome of the more horrifying examples from the research include a 47-year-old black man in construction, who says, “I’m treated as an equal until something negative about my race is in the news or [a] conversation. Then I feel the different treatment.”A black, 27-year-old woman who works in telecommunications reported, “I love my job, but I have been told my superiors won’t promote me based on my physical appearance. I wish I … [Read more...] about How to lower the Emotional Tax on minority employees

Like most dedicated Storm users I've resorted to using Canadian Bell and leaked upgrades. The Bell .122 release is a thing of beauty and brings the Storm up to the same level as my 3G iPhone. I too, am using a 'leaked' OS on my phone. I am happy with .141, but can see why VZW wants to be cautiious. The support nightmare that would result from a less than stellar OS would be worse than … [Read more...] about Comments for : Verizon rejects BlackBerry Storm OS build 18.104.22.168 after testing it?
