Xbox Live is having a pretty rough week. Just days after server problems left players unable to sign in or even play their offline games, it has been hit with another set of issues — and Microsoft doesn’t know the cause yet. On the official Xbox Support Twitter account, Microsoft said that players could be experiencing issues related to signing in or accessing “previously purchased content” and that its teams were working to identify the issue. The problem is affecting Xbox One users as well as those using the Xbox services on Windows 10, though there are some users who say they are still able to access Xbox Live on their consoles. With the deep freeze overtaking much of the United States, you might have gotten the day off of school or work and wanted to play some Xbox One. Unfortunately, problems with Xbox Live have rendered some users’ consoles virtually unusable at the moment. Players turning on their systems this morning found that they were unable to even play offline games, such as the new Kingdom Hearts III. Players have also reported completely black screens when turning on their systems, with some completing factory resets before checking online to see if others were experiencing issues. Microsoft is aware of the issues, telling affected players that its engineers are actively working on fixing problems related to Xbox One console startup, sign-in errors, and title updates. Xbox Live isn’t working for everyone at the moment. Microsoft has confirmed the issue on its Xbox Live status site, and players are complaining about the outage on social media. This is preventing people from signing into Xbox Live, which causes issues loading just about any digital purchase on the platform. If you are unable to sign into Xbox Live, you will have difficulty loading up your downloaded games — although physical discs should still work if you go into offline mode. This outage is also causing issues for people trying to watch streaming video on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and more. You may have trouble getting games and services working on your Xbox One, PC, or other devices that rely on Xbox Live today. Microsoft has confirmed that core services are offline for many of its devices. Xbox Live went offline earlier in the day on Sunday, May 20, and it has had intermittent issues ever since. This outage is prevent people from booting up most games on Xbox One devices — although video streaming through apps like Netflix continue to function. This is also keeping people from using games downloaded from the Windows Store.
