On Saturday afternoon, US jets intercepted the Chinese surveillance balloon as it was leaving the continental US. Live footage of the event shows contrails of aircraft approaching the balloon, followed by a puff of smoke that may indicate the explosion of some ordinance near the balloon's envelope—a reporter is heard saying "they just shot it" in the video embedded below. The envelope clearly loses structural integrity shortly afterwards as it plunges towards the ocean. Reportedly, the events took place near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Austin III, that confirmed the interception was performed by US fighter jets on the order of President Biden. The Witcher 4: Das wissen wir bisher
Sobald neue Details … [Read more...] about The Witcher 4: Das wissen wir bisher

Microsoft alleges attacks on French magazine came from Iranian-backed group
Microsoft said on Friday that an Iranian nation-state group already sanctioned by the US government was behind an attack last month that targeted the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo and thousands of its readers. The attack came to light on January 4, when a previously unknown group calling itself Holy Souls took to the Internet to claim it had obtained a Charlie Hebdo database that contained personal information for 230,000 of its customers. The post said the database was available for sale at the price of 20 BTC, or roughly $340,000 at the time. The group also released a sample of the data that included the full names, telephone numbers, and home and email addresses of people who had subscribed to, or purchased merchandise from, the publication. French media confirmed the veracity of the leaked data. The release of the sample put the customers at risk of online targeting or physical violence by extremist groups, which have retaliated against Charlie Hebdo in recent … [Read more...] about Microsoft alleges attacks on French magazine came from Iranian-backed group
The Resident Evil 4 remake will drop a decisive feature
Audio player loading… With Resident Evil 4's remake less than a couple of months away, fans have been wondering just how faithful it'll be to the original game. In the case of one divisive mechanic, not so much. The Resident Evil 4 remake, launching for PS5 and Xbox Series X |S on March 24, is entirely ditching the quick time events of the original release. In an exclusive with Game Informer (opens in new tab) , Capcom confirmed that in their place will be more substantial gameplay elements such as side quests and new enemy types. These side quests will be scattered throughout the environment as collectible flyers, incentivizing exploration. They offer various objectives like killing certain enemies or solving various puzzles and riddles. What few side quests the original game had, such as shooting a set of blue medallions, are also set to make a return. New enemy types will be making their debut in Resident Evil 4 , too, one of which being a portly … [Read more...] about The Resident Evil 4 remake will drop a decisive feature
I watched Rian Johnson’s Poker Face on Peacock – and it’s nothing like Knives Out
Audio player loading… It's no secret that Peacock is the black sheep of the streaming family. While the likes of Netflix and Disney Plus possess extensive and excellent back catalogs, Peacock's lack of top-tier originals has seen audiences shun it in favor of its more popular cousins. Now, though, NBC Universal's streamer has a truly fantastic TV show to rival its peers: Poker Face . The brainchild of Rian Johnson ( Knives Out , Star Wars ), Poker Face is an sensationally good comedy detective series that'll do more than fill the Knives Out -shaped void in your life . In fact, I'd go as far to say it's the best Peacock show of all-time – and one that'll convince you to finally sign up for the service. The truth is out there Poker Face stars Natasha Lyonne ( Russian Doll ) as Charlie Cale, a drifter who possesses the seemingly supernatural ability to detect lies. Or, in Cale's catchphrase-like terms, when a person "bullshits" her. When … [Read more...] about I watched Rian Johnson’s Poker Face on Peacock – and it’s nothing like Knives Out

Big Tech groups disclose $10 billion in charges from job culls and cost cuts
Amazon, Meta, Alphabet, and Microsoft will collectively incur more than $10 billion in charges related to mass redundancies, real estate, and other cost-saving measures, as the Big Tech companies reveal the hefty price they incur to rein in spending. The US companies that have been implementing the largest job cuts in the tech sector disclosed the high costs related to their restructuring efforts in earnings statements released this week. HBO Max, Paramount Plus join Netflix in frustrating 2023 TV show cancellation spree
Audio player loading… Update: Paramount has responded to TechRadar's request for comment about its Paramount Plus and Showtime merger.
