Aisle411 has been making retail stores a less scary place to venture out into for a few years now. Aisle411 is now bringing its service to Walgreens. The virtual mapping and navigation app is available now and works at all 7,907 Walgreens drugstores throughout the country. You can use Aisle411 to view a map of the store or locate products throughout the store. The Walgreens online store now offers a $99 Android tablet, the Maylong M-150. The 7-inch tablet runs Android 1.6, and features Wi-Fi only connectivity. The tablet, which is a blatant visual imitation of an Apple iPad, is powered by a 400MHz ARM9 processor. It features a 7-inch resistive touchscreen, 256MB of RAM, stereo speakers, and a flash memory slot. The M-150 also has a dongle to allow USB connections.Physical buttons include a menu/home button on the front, and power and volume switches on the sides. In terms of software, the device includes a full browser, an e-reader app, YouTube, and a media player.Granted, this is no Samsung Galaxy Tab, but it is a great low-cost alternative for those who just want basic Internet connectivity in a tablet. It also serves as a fun alternative for kids who want a tablet, but wouldn't fully utilize (or properly care for) a more powerful, network-connected device.source: Walgreens via The Digital Reader … [Read more...] about Walgreens offers $99 Android tablet from Maylong
With Apple believed to have reached agreements with American Express, Visa and Mastercard on a mobile payment system, we could see the iPhone Wallet debut on the Apple iPhone 6. Talk that the latter will come to market with NFC connectivity only strengthens the rumor even more. Having the pieces apparently in place for the payment end, Apple now needs to come to terms with retailers who would agree to accept the new mobile payment system.Apple would presumably look for retailers with a large network of physical stores. These locations should reach from coast to coast, and the stores should be stocked with a variety of merchandise. Both CVS and Walgreens would seem to fit the bill, which is why there is speculation that both drug store chains have reached an agreement with Apple to accept iPhone Wallet..Besides employing the NFC chip rumored to be nestled inside the iPhone 6, Apple has other ways to offer mobile payments. The iBeacon technology, which uses Bluetooth LE to send targeted … [Read more...] about Walgreens and CVS to accept iPhone Wallet?
Android Pay has been around for nearly a year, and Google's mobile payment platform has seen greater adoption and success than the former Google Wallet ever had. Thanks to the similar rise of Apple and Samsung Pay, the act of using your phone to pay for goods at physical stores is becoming increasingly more common as more and more outlets take advantage of these services. On top of being able to use your debit and credit cards with Android Pay, being able to add loyalty cards to various stores only adds to the overall convenience of the service.
