The Galaxy M53 5G, however, is the most expensive of them all. With a launch price of Rs 26,499 for the base variant, the Galaxy M53 5G does seem to have a lot of expectations to carry. And that’s not just because of the price tag. It’s a hyper competitive segment in which the Galaxy M53 5G operates and faces stiff competition. So it really has to check all the boxes to meet the customers’ expectations. We used the Galaxy M53 5G for a while and here’s what we think of the smartphone: Design and display For a phone that costs north of Rs 25,000, it is a bit of surprise to Samsung giving it a plastic … [Read more...] about samsung: Samsung Galaxy M53 5G review: The quintessential Samsung mid-ranger

Used graphics card prices fall up to 50% as more cryptominers sell their GPUs

July 1, 2022 by www.techspot.com Leave a Comment

In brief: As cryptocurrency prices continue to fall and Bitcoin once again drops below the $20,000 mark, cryptomining is becoming increasingly less profitable—and that's good news for gamers looking to grab a second-hand GPU. According to a recent report, prices of used graphics cards have crashed as much as 50% in recent months. The crypto market isn't showing any signs of improving, barring a temporary uptick over the weekend that saw markets briefly pass $1 trillion. That's bad news for investors, crypto companies, and North Korea but good news for those looking to buy a used graphics card, especially as Ethereum's upcoming switch from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake, aka The Merge , is going to push prices down even further. Bloomberg estimates that more than a third of the consumer graphics card market could vanish as cryptominers decide that their money-making hobby just isn't worth it anymore. The publication estimates that 35% of consumer graphics cards were bought … [Read more...] about Used graphics card prices fall up to 50% as more cryptominers sell their GPUs

Best Internet Providers in Atlanta

June 21, 2022 by www.cnet.com Leave a Comment

If you're searching for home internet service providers in the Atlanta area, you're most likely coming up with two or three main options. AT&T and Xfinity are widely available, and select neighborhoods have access to Google Fiber . While having more options to choose from would be nice, all three of these are among our top picks for the best internet providers nationwide. If you want more choices, you'll likely have to go wireless. T-Mobile , Verizon and Yomura Air all send internet signals throughout much of Atlanta, but the overall value of each service will depend on the speeds available at your specific address. While other Atlanta ISP options may be available (those are listed further down the page), serviceability is too random, or the service itself too undesirable, to be considered for reliable internet in your area . So which Atlanta ISP is best for your home? That depends on what you're looking for. Fiber internet providers like … [Read more...] about Best Internet Providers in Atlanta

Asus and Gigabyte predict motherboard sales will fall 25% this year as GPU bundles lose appeal

June 28, 2022 by www.techspot.com Leave a Comment

In a nutshell: Graphics card prices and availability finally returning to (somewhat) normal levels is excellent news for consumers, but motherboard manufacturers are unlikely to be as pleased. Asus and Gigabyte, who combined make up 70% of the mobo market, have warned that they expect sales to fall by around 25% compared to last year. And it seems much of the decline is due to people not needing to buy a new motherboard just to get the bundled GPU. According to DigiTimes (via Tom's Hardware ), Taiwan PC industry sources say the two big motherboard—and other hardware—makers are expecting the market to shrink by around a quarter this year compared to 2021. It's a prediction already seen in the Q2 2022 shipment figures, which experienced a larger-than-expected reduction. Year Asus motherboards Gigabyte motherboards 2022 (projected) 14 million 9.5 million 2021 18 million 13 million 2020 N/A 13 million 2019 16.4 million N/A Two factors … [Read more...] about Asus and Gigabyte predict motherboard sales will fall 25% this year as GPU bundles lose appeal

Asrock Z790/H770 motherboard list confirms Intel Raptor Lake will support DDR4

June 23, 2022 by www.techspot.com Leave a Comment

What just happened? Intel's next processor series, Raptor Lake, won't be taking its cue from AMD's Zen 4 platform by supporting only DDR5 memory. It was long suspected that this would be the case, but a leaked list of upcoming Asrock Z790 and H770 motherboards confirms that the 13-gen chips will support both memory types. VideoCardz obtained the list of Asrock flagship Z790 and mid-range H770 mobos. It includes both DDR4 and DDR5 variants of certain boards, much like the current 600-series chipset mobos used by Alder Lake. Alder Lake is Intel's first consumer chip series to support DDR4 and DDR5, depending on which board you buy, but some feared that its Raptor Lake successor would use only the more expensive DDR5 variant. There have long been rumors that Intel intends to keep support for both memory types with Raptor Lake. Given that the next-gen CPUs share the same LGA 1700 socket as Alder Lake and will be backward compatible with 600-series chipsets—Alder Lake CPUs will … [Read more...] about Asrock Z790/H770 motherboard list confirms Intel Raptor Lake will support DDR4

3 companies control many big-name VPNs: What you need to know

February 5, 2022 by www.cnet.com Leave a Comment

Let's say you're in the market for a VPN (virtual private network). You're probably looking for some combination of better privacy (from snooping ISPs, advertisers or governments), increased online security (who knows who else is on that public Wi-Fi node?) or even more flexible video streaming options. Unlike mobile operating systems (two main options) or US mobile providers (three basic choices), you might be impressed with the range of VPN providers available to you. At first glance, you'll see at least a dozen options. However, many of the biggest names in the industry today -- and some of CNET's top VPN picks -- are owned by just three parent companies. And those "big three" have gotten even larger in just the past few months, thanks to an increasing wave of VPN consolidation . Pair that with the deliberately opaque and multinational ownership structure of many VPNs and it's becoming even trickier to make sense of which providers are owned or controlled by which parent … [Read more...] about 3 companies control many big-name VPNs: What you need to know

Breitbart Business Digest: The Incredible Shrinking Biden Economy

July 1, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

We have put to rest the first half of 2022, and we cannot say we’ll miss it. The stock market suffered its worst first half since 1970, with the S&P 5000 falling nearly 20 percent since the start of the year. The broad index is down 21 percent from its high in early January and has been in bear market territory since early June. There are some who will take comfort in the fact that the 1970 first quarter bear market was followed by a solid rebound. We are not so confident. The effective Fed Funds rate at that time was dropping from 9.25 percent in December of 1969 to 4.74 percent in December of 1970. In other words, the Fed was loosening the stance of monetary policy. Today, we have the opposite, with the Fed rapidly tightening to get inflation under control. So, we are in an unusual situation in which the economy is very likely shrinking for a second consecutive quarter while the Fed is raising rates. Federal Reserve Board Chairman Jerome Powell speaks at a news … [Read more...] about Breitbart Business Digest: The Incredible Shrinking Biden Economy

EU extends roaming regulations for telecom providers

June 30, 2022 by www.gadgetsnow.com Leave a Comment

The European Union has extended 'Roam-like-at-home' regulations for telecom providers until 2032, the European Commission announced on Thursday. The scheme allows travellers in the EU and the EEA to call, text and surf abroad without extra charges. "With our roaming regulation we have all benefitted from Roam-like-at-home," EU's top official Margrethe Vestager said in an official statement. "This is a very tangible benefit of our European Single Market. Prolonging these rules will keep inter-operator prices competitive, and allow consumers to continue enjoying free-of-charge roaming services for the next ten years."
