PC and printer major HP Inc has appointed company veteran Marie Myers as Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ). During her two decades with HP Inc, Myers served as Global Controller and Americas CFO of the company's Personal Systems business unit, among other roles. In addition, she served as HP's finance lead during the separation of Hewlett-Packard Company in 2015, one of the largest and most complex separations in business history. Myers also previously served as CFO at UiPath, a leading robotics process automation company. "As our acting CFO and chief transformation officer , she has consistently driven strong results, unlocked new sources of value, and positioned us well to deliver on our priorities," said Enrique Lores, President and CEO, HP Inc, in a statement on Wednesday. Ending weeks of speculation about its future, Palm has been acquired by Hewlett-Packard for $1.2 billion, the companies announced this afternoon. The survival of webOS and its parent company had come under question in recent weeks, with some analysts suggesting that shares of Palm were essentially worthless . Things only got worse when RadioShack decided to stop selling Palm's two flagship devices: Pre and Pixi. Now it appears that Palm and its mobile operating system have lived to fight another day, with CEO Jon Rubinstein saying in a statement that "HP’s longstanding culture of innovation, scale and global operating resources make it the perfect partner to rapidly accelerate the growth of webOS." Personal computer giant HP Inc. this afternoon said it will make its acting CFO, Marie Myers, who took on the role in October with the departure of Steve Fieler, to be its new chief financial officer. HP CEO Enrique Lores called Myers "one of HP's most respected leaders," adding, "she has consistently driven strong results, unlocked new sources of value, and positioned us well to deliver on our priorities." Myers has been juggling the dual roles since October of acting CFO and transformation officer for HP Inc. while HP conducted an executive search for a new financial chief.
