Whether the oversight will fundamentally alter Musk’s Twitter activity is open to doubt. He’s been tweeting freely since the settlement was signed. The only tweets that would call for review, he told “60 Minutes,” are those that might move the stock price. Any further restrictions, Musk said, would violate his 1st Amendment rights. … [Read more...] about Twitter restrictions on Elon Musk are set to take hold. When Lily Hevesh opened Twitter and saw YouTube’s Christmas video, it looked very familiar. That’s because it was her own. YouTube’s tweet doesn’t credit Hevesh at all, or mention her YouTube channel. The tweet also cuts Hevesh’s intro, which acts as a welcome to her channel for those who stumble upon the video. Hevesh’s original video, uploaded to YouTube on December 23rd, has just over 60,000 views, but YouTube’s lifted version boasts more than 250,000. Hevesh, a professional domino artist, uses YouTube as, essentially, a specialized form of advertising for her work. You can see what her creations look like, if you want to hire her. We took this action based on new reports of Tweets and videos posted yesterday that violate our abusive behavior policy, in addition to the accounts’ past violations,” declared Twitter in a statement. “As … [Read more...] about Blacklisted: 7 Notable Twitter Bans in 2018
The New York Times reported that Democrats created fake Russian Twitter bots in a disinformation campaign, also known as fake news, in order to influence voters to influence the Senate election in Alabama. The campaign was reportedly funded by liberal billionaire Reid Hoffman and included the creation of more than a thousand Russian-language accounts that followed Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore’s Twitter account. This was picked up by major media outlets in order to fool the public into thinking the Russians supported Moore. Robert Siciliano, security expert and CEO of Safr.me, recently discussed the Democrat’s Russian disinformation campaign on Fox Business: Democrats Created Fake Russian Twitter Profiles What it seems like is a number of Twitter profiles were created looking like they were of Russian descent and they were following Roy Moore. Some in the media picked it up at the time. I believe it was USA Today and The Alabamian. They pointed it out and it made … [Read more...] about Democrats Created Fake Russian Twitter Bots to Influence Election
