Okay, the following is nothing but a rumor right now, so taking it with a grain of salt is highly advisable. It is said that future iPhone, iPad, and iPod models may get a redesigned dock connector, which will be smaller than the current one. The so-called “micro dock” will not be present on the iPad 3, but will very likely make its way to the iPhone 5 (or whatever these two devices end up being called) according to the sources. While a redesigned dock connector will inevitably render a whole plethora of iPhone and iPad accessories incompatible with newer models, it will allow for more valuable space to be freed up inside of them. And that extra space is always more than welcome as it allows for more chips, larger camera sensors, and bigger batteries to be fitted without changing the overall dimensions of the device. That is the reason why Apple ditched the Mini-SIM card replacing it with a Micro-SIM card on the iPhone 4, and took the smartphone's antennas on the outside, … [Read more...] about iPhone 5 might get a smaller dock connector

When you get your shiny new iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus — or any new iPhone — you'll need to move all your old data to its new home. Whether you're using iOS 11's Automatic Setup feature, iCloud, or iTunes and a USB cable, it's best to make a backup of your old iPhone before doing anything else. Once you've done that, you have a number of options for restoring that data to your new iPhone. How to use Automatic setup with your iPhone on iOS 11 As of iOS 11, you can use any current device running iOS 11 to set up a new iPhone or iPad by transferring the settings from your current device to your new device when in close physical proximity. posted on 08 Feb 2011, 00:54 0 1. Kevin (unregistered) I actually am having issues just getting my phone. UPS tracking info said I was supposed to get it at 10:30 on Monday but that didn't happen and nobody from Verizon or UPS could help much. Finally I got word that the package was in a trailer at the destination but could'nt be delivered yet. The whole thing wasted an entire day for me and hopefully I will get it tomorrow. My UPS tracking info is still saying that it should be delivered on 2/7/11 which is now over. UPS is in everyway a horrible customer service experience and should really try and hire some people that can speak proper english. posted on 08 Feb 2011, 00:58 3 3. This is part of our Road Trip 2016 summer series "Life, Disrupted," about how technology is helping with the global refugee crisis -- if at all. Editors' note: On October 24, French police began to clear refugees out of the Jungle as a prelude to demolishing the camp. Earlier in the year, we visited the facility. This story describes what we found. I see why it's called the Jungle. This refugee camp in Calais is a sprawl of hundreds of flimsy tents, plywood shacks and ramshackle shelters made of tarp, jammed together atop sand dunes next to the English Channel. It houses about 6,000 Afghans, Sudanese, Iraqis, Iranians and other men who fled terror in their homelands only to find reluctance and indifference here in France. Men bathe at water taps next to a row of battered chemical toilets. Tattered laundry flutters in the breeze. Large gray rats scurry among the tents, while dead rodents litter the sand nearby. The Jungle, often described as one of the worst refugee camps in … [Read more...] about Refugees cling to Wi-Fi in the Jungle of Calais
