If you're the lucky owner of a new iPhone XS or XS Max or planning on picking up Apple's iPhone XR, you may be wondering what to do about your current Apple Watch. Here's how to move your current wearable to your new iPhone! Want to find out how you can pair a new watch with an existing iPhone? Here's how to set that up. How to prepare your Apple Watch for moving to a new iPhone Unlike your iPhone, there's no easy way to manually make a backup of your Apple Watch to iCloud. This is because Apple Watch backups aren't even really backups at all: Your watch borrows most of its data from its paired iPhone, and as such, that data is all saved to your iPhone's iCloud or iTunes backup. Your Watch will regularly sync health and app data it gathers to your iPhone (and, via your phone, iCloud) when you're connected via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. But you can't choose when you'd like to sync that information — it happens in the background — unless you manually unpair your Apple … [Read more...] about How to transfer an Apple Watch to a new iPhone

Don’t believe the hype: Switching between iPhone and Android is quite easy. source Tomohiro Ohsumi/Getty Images I should know – I’ve been writing about technology for the past five years, and I’ve switched among a dozen different smartphones in that time. Whether I’m using an iPhone or an Android phone, everything comes with me. I never lose a contact, and my calendar switches seamlessly. Even my notes come with me! Here’s how I do it. The answer to your problems is Google — not Android, but Google. source Google If you’re a devout user of Apple services – Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Maps, etc. – it can be difficult to transfer to Android. But even if you’re not looking to move to Android, there’s a good reason to stop using Apple’s services: They lock you into Apple devices. You can, of course, continue using Apple’s services, but adding a few Google tie-ins … [Read more...] about I switch between iPhone and Android whenever I want without losing anything — here’s the very simple way I do it
Okay, the following is nothing but a rumor right now, so taking it with a grain of salt is highly advisable. It is said that future iPhone, iPad, and iPod models may get a redesigned dock connector, which will be smaller than the current one. The so-called “micro dock” will not be present on the iPad 3, but will very likely make its way to the iPhone 5 (or whatever these two devices end up being called) according to the sources. While a redesigned dock connector will inevitably render a whole plethora of iPhone and iPad accessories incompatible with newer models, it will allow for more valuable space to be freed up inside of them. And that extra space is always more than welcome as it allows for more chips, larger camera sensors, and bigger batteries to be fitted without changing the overall dimensions of the device. That is the reason why Apple ditched the Mini-SIM card replacing it with a Micro-SIM card on the iPhone 4, and took the smartphone's antennas on the outside, … [Read more...] about iPhone 5 might get a smaller dock connector

posted on 08 Feb 2011, 00:54 0 1. Kevin (unregistered) I actually am having issues just getting my phone. UPS tracking info said I was supposed to get it at 10:30 on Monday but that didn't happen and nobody from Verizon or UPS could help much. Finally I got word that the package was in a trailer at the destination but could'nt be delivered yet. The whole thing wasted an entire day for me and hopefully I will get it tomorrow. My UPS tracking info is still saying that it should be delivered on 2/7/11 which is now over. UPS is in everyway a horrible customer service experience and should really try and hire some people that can speak proper english. posted on 08 Feb 2011, 00:58 3 3.
