And now there could be one in the offing as reports show that Apple could be coming out with a smartphone that measures 5.42 inches. The phone, which is about half an inch larger than the first SE, can be considered a clear indication of an SE 2 coming to the markets soon. Now even if speculations indicate that we won’t be getting the SE 2 or what is slated to be called the iPhone XE as IBTimes earlier reported, until next year, some Apple analysts think … [Read more...] about iPhone SE 2 Features Show ‘Little Brother’ To iPhone XS?

NEW CONCEPT images show how the next gen iPhone SE could shape up – if Apple ever releases it. The original SE came out nearly three years ago and was an instant hit due to its compact design and modest £400 price tag. Apple has yet to confirm if it's making another SE, so fans at Tech Garage took matters into their own hands. They created renders of what they call the "SE2", which features an all-screen design and a display notch like the iPhone XS. To allow for wireless charging, the rear of the handset is made of glass – a far call from the boxy, aluminium casing of the 2016 original. Tech Garage's all-screen concept would boast a 4.7-inch screen, a big step up from the poky 4-inch display of the first SE. This is achieved in part because their SE2 design come without the chunky home button featured on its predecessor. Instead, users have gesture controls to flick through the handset's menus, and Touch ID or Face ID to unlock the screen. Apple has quietly started selling the beloved iPhone SE again, just four months after it was discontinued with the release of the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. The iPhone SE launched in March 2016 with a starting price of $400 for the 16GB model, and is “the best 4-inch smartphone you can buy, period.” The device was just as powerful as the iPhone 6s, which was released just six months prior with a starting price of $649 for the 16GB model. It had the same 64-bit A9 processor, M9 motion coprocessor, 2GB of RAM, and the headphone jack, but with a smaller screen and no 3D Touch. For those who missed the iPhone SE, now is the chance to grab the 4-inch smartphone from the online Apple store, at even lower prices. The 32GB version is now being sold for $249, from $349 when the smartphone was discontinued. The 128GB version, meanwhile, is being sold for $299, from $449 previously. These are not refurbished units, but rather brand new ones. The specs may already be … [Read more...] about Apple resurrects the iPhone SE with brand new units starting at $249
Ever since it was first introduced with the iPhone 6s , 3D Touch has been a touchy topic. Many mocked Apple, claiming that the fancy pressure-sensing input method can be replicated with a simple tap-and-hold. Later on, Google made that point clear by adding Quick Shortcuts to Android 7 Nougat — long pressing on an app icon on the home screen opens up a tiny contextual menu, a lot like how 3D Touch acts when you hard press on an icon on the iPhone. Even Apple allowed for the iPhone SE , iPhone 5s , and the current iPhone XR to simulate 3D Touch with long presses for certain functions, like activating Live Photos in the gallery or adding message effects in iMessage. There's a rumor floating about since before this year's iPhones were even announced. Reportedly, Apple is preparing to kill off 3D Touch in its future phones. Reason being, the company believes the feature is rarely used since it's not immediately apparent to users when and how they can 3D Touch various UI … [Read more...] about 4 cases where 3D Touch is a superior feature to a simple long press
