Google says that it created a new look for Google Search on mobile that will begin rolling out over the next few days. The changes are subtle to a couple of areas that you may not notice at first glance. Can you see them in the image above? The old Google Search is on the left and the new is on the right. Google has tweaked two things from what I can tell. First, they are adding website branding (name) and icons next to results. Google hopes this will help you “better understand where the information is coming from and what pages have what you’re looking for.” And surely, that little bit of info will help with those two things. The 2nd change is to the top advertisement. Notice anything there? It now just looks like the new branded area of real search results. Google has “huge teams” working on manual interventions in search results, an apparent contradiction of sworn testimony made to Congress by CEO Sundar Pichai, according to an internal post leaked to Breitbart News. “There are subjects that are prone to hyperbolic content, misleading information, and offensive content,” said Daniel Aaronson, a member of Google’s Trust & Safety team.“Now, these words are highly subjective and no one denies that. Google CEO Sundar Pichai failed to explain why Google image searches for the term “idiot” return pictures of President Trump during a hearing today before the House Judiciary Committee. During a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was questioned by Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) about a specific Google search term. When the term “idiot” is searched on Google, the images section of the website returns pictures of President Trump, Lofgren asked Pichai to explain this, however the CEO seemed unable to do so.“Now, manipulation of search results,” said Lofgren. “I think it’s important to talk about how search works.
