The Supreme Court on Friday eliminated the constitutional right to an abortion in the US, overturning the landmark 1973 decision Roe v. Wade. The court's decision gives states the power to make their own laws on abortion, many of which have banned or plan to ban or severely restrict access to abortion. Eight states have bans that are now effective , with at least another eight to soon follow. As the nation grapples with the impact of the ruling, several prominent executives from tech, entertainment and other industries have spoken out. The nation continues to grapple with the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a landmark 1973 case that guaranteed a constitutional right to an abortion in the US. The court's decision on Friday gave states the power to make their own laws on abortion, many of which have banned or plan to ban or severely restrict access to abortion. At least eight states have bans that are now effective , with around a dozen others set to implement bans or near-total bans soon. Since the opinion was released, several prominent executives from tech, entertainment and other industries have spoken out. Some companies have also said they'll cover travel expenses for employees who can't access abortions where they live. Here's a look at what companies and their leaders have said so far. DOJ Vows to Fight for Abortion: We Will ‘Use Every Tool at our Disposal’

June 24, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Attorney General Merrick Garland vowed in a statement released on Friday that President Biden’s Department of Justice would use “every tool at our disposal” to fight for abortion. In a 5-4 decision the Supreme Court ruled Friday that the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision is no longer the law of the land, as abortion is not protected by the U.S. Constitution. As a result, the decision will now rest with each individual state — federalism at work. Three of the five justices who overturned the landmark decision were appointed by former President Donald Trump: Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett. However, Biden’s DOJ “ strongly disagrees ” with the Court’s decision, according to Garland. “The Justice Department strongly disagrees with the Court’s decision. This decision deals a devastating blow to reproductive freedom in the United States. It will have an immediate and irreversible impact on the lives of people across the country,” Garland wrote, asserting … [Read more...] about DOJ Vows to Fight for Abortion: We Will ‘Use Every Tool at our Disposal’

Republican U.S. Senate candidate and former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens spoke to host Matthew Boyle on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Saturday and emphasized that former President Donald J. Trump was responsible for the landmark Supreme Court ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health case,  which overturned the long-standing 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. “Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision would not have been possible without President Trump,” Greitens pointed out. “He nominated conservative judges who respect the Constitution; he’s the one who took out Hillary Clinton, and he did it with no help from the RINO establishment,” the America First Senate candidate added. ‘I Call It a Hate Crime’: Jane’s Revenge Strikes Michigan Pro-Life Group

June 28, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Vandalism, a 1931 abortion ban , and a potential ballot measure codifying a “right to abortion” are colliding in Michigan, heating up a pro-life v. pro-abortion battle in a state splintered by a Democrat governor and a Republican majority state House and Senate. Executive Director of Jackson Right to Life in Jackson, Michigan, Kathy Potts spoke to Breitbart News Sunday following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and return the issue of abortion laws to state legislatures. But just two days before the landmark ruling, vandals — who claim to be Jane’s Revenge — ravaged the Right to Life headquarters. The organization happens to share an office with Rep. Tim Wahlberg (R-MI). The attack is one in a string of vandalisms and fire-bombings perpetrated by pro-abortion radicals. My office and Jackson @Right_to_Life were the latest to fall victim to the disgusting domestic terrorism targeting pregnancy centers and pro-life groups across the country. Pro-Abortion Protesters Chant ‘F*ck Joe Biden,’ ‘Youngkin’ in Virginia

A group of pro-abortion protesters was filmed apparently chanting, “Fuck Joe Biden” and “Fuck Glenn Youngkin,” in Richmond, Virginia, Friday evening. The demonstrators gathered to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overruled Roe v. Wade . Despite President Joe Biden’s governing agenda being one of the most progressive in the history of the nation — including supporting pro-abortion policies and calling it a “fundamental right” on Friday — left-wing protesters appear to not be satisfied with the president as Roe was overturned during his administration.
