La renaissance du vinyle est bel et bien actée, comme le révèle une nouvelle étude indiquant que les ventes de disques vinyles ont dépassé celles des CD pour la première fois depuis 1986. Ce rapport publié par la RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America, l’équivalent de la Sacem française) a révélé qu'en 2020, les ventes de vinyle ont augmenté de 28,7% pour générer 626 millions de dollars (environ 519 millions d’euros). Tandis que les revenus du CD ont diminué de 23% pour atteindre 483 millions de dollars (à peu près 400 millions d’euros).
