Sage chief executive Stephen Kelly has agreed to step down from his position after discussions with the board. Kelly, who joined the accounting software firm in 2014, has vacated his director and chief executive roles effective immediately on the back of lower-than-expected growth. Chief financial officer Steve Hare has taken on the additional role of chief operating officer on an interim basis, with “full executive authority” to run Sage while the board searches for a successor to Kelly. British software group Sage has dropped its chief executive for the first time in its nearly 40 year history. Stephen Kelly, who joined the accounting software company four years ago, will step aside immediately from his executive duties but will 'remain available' to the business until May 31 next year. The announcement sent shares in the group, Britain's biggest listed technology company, sliding by 7 per cent. Sage has been struggling in recent months and recently announced a management clear-out. President Trump allegedly laid into Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen during a White House meeting, as border crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border continue to skyrocket, according to a new report. The death of renowned physicist Stephen Hawking, reported today (March 14), prompted accolades from across NASA, including from its acting administrator and many astronauts.
