The PS5 , now the fastest-selling console in US history , has been nearly impossible to find since its November release. Every time a major retailer has restocked the PS5, it has sold out immediately, and that has spawned a cottage industry of Twitter feeds that track PS5 (and Xbox) availability in real time. While we can't promise that kind of instant turnaround, we can share pointers on how to buy a PS5 now and offer easy shortcuts to the product pages for the PS5 at major retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart, as well as resellers like StockX and eBay if you want to pay a premium to get one sooner (more on that below). First tip: Don't wait until you hear about a PS5 inventory drop. Check the links at major retailers for stock updates daily or even multiple times a day. (We've got them all lined up below.) If you do happen upon some PS5 availability, go all in with as many browsers and devices as possible. On a desktop, for example, open … [Read more...] about PS5 restock updates: Check PlayStation 5 stock at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Walmart and more

Because the world desperately needed another GPU people can’t actually buy, AMD decided to release a limited-edition “Midnight Black” version of its Radeon RX 6800 XT early Wednesday morning, where it sold out before most people even saw the card was there. You might be thinking: “Why would you release a limited-edition version of something that’s practically a collector’s piece even without a new coat of paint?” (AMD’s recent GPUs are even rarer than Nvidia’s, though both currently command two to three times their retail price on eBay .) Or you might be thinking: “When, exactly, did AMD announce a new GPU? I don’t remember that.” That’s because the company didn’t formally announce it: according to VideoCardz , AMD quietly told its “AMD Red Team community” fanbase by email at around midnight that they should watch for the card at 6AM PT, an announcement that did not stay under wraps, to put it mildly. Personally, I’m just wondering: If AMD actually wanted to put video … [Read more...] about AMD inexplicably threw scalpers a bone with limited-edition Radeon RX 6800 XT ‘Midnight Black’ GPU
Tesla has jacked up the price of its solar roof, which integrates solar panels directly into roof tiles, Electrek reports . A 12.3 kW system that Electrek priced at $54,966 last summer now costs more than $70,000, according to Tesla's online calculator. Customers report that Tesla is not only raising prices for future solar roof installations—it's demanding more money from some existing customers whose panels haven't been installed yet. "Tesla has reneged on its solar roof contracts and has raised the prices for people (like me) who have already signed contract with them," one Ars reader told us. "For example, they are asking for an additional $21,000 for my project from about $66,000 to $87,000." Another customer shared a similar story with The Verge: One solar roof customer told The Verge he signed a contract in February to install the solar roof for $35,000, with an additional $30,000 for the batteries. Later, he received a “terse email” from Tesla stating that in … [Read more...] about Tesla tells customers they’ll have to pay more for solar roof
