No, Chromium browsers aren’t going anywhere any time soon
Android & Chill Google is simply doing what it does best — keeping its extras to itself. Jerry Hildenbrand 6 Mar 2021 1 Source: Jerry Hildenbrand / Android Central I've seen something being shared around that looks like terrible news for anyone who loves the way Chrome can render a web page but hates the extra bloat that's baked into Google's browser. According to It's FOSS — a web site dedicated to all things open-source and a site I read regularly — third-party browsers that use Chromium are being locked out of certain features because Google is worried about market share. That would be a devastating loss to you, me, and the internet as a whole if it were the case, but I don't think it has anything to do with the market share of Chrome or that Google really cares about the particular features in play here. It's just Google making sure that only you and it have access to sensitive information stored in your Google account. The new Google Pay app is finally out of beta — here’s what that could mean
Ready for prime time A global release could be imminent. Derrek Lee 5 Mar 2021 5 Source: Joe Maring / Android Central What you need to know The new Google Pay app is no longer listed as "early access" in the Play Store. Google is set to strip the old version of most of its features next month. This could mean Google is preparing to roll out the new app to more countries outside the U.S. The old version of the Google Pay app was recently and unsurprisingly given an expiration date as Google focuses on the new app experience. Oddly, the new app was still listed as "early access," despite being widely available, and even appeared in the beta tab of the Play Store... until now. … [Read more...] about The new Google Pay app is finally out of beta — here’s what that could mean

We may earn a commission for purchases using our links. Learn more . Time for an adventure Excellent hardware for a kid's watch that is held back by a lackluster companion app experience. Chris Wedel 4 Mar 2021 0 Source: Chris Wedel/Android Central Wearables for kids are becoming more and more common, which why I wanted to do an Xplora X5 Play review. This device is more than just another wearable; it's also a phone. This opens up more possibilities as well as problems for families. The Xplora X5 Play attempts to combine many of the features that I have found in watches I have previously reviewed, like polished hardware of the GizmoWatch 2 and the camera found in the TickTalk 3 . Xplora is a brand based in Norway and has been making very popular devices for children in Europe for years, but the X5 Play is the first to make it to the United States. Using some standard features of kid's smartwatches like a parent-controlled experience and fun … [Read more...] about Xplora X5 Play Kids Smartwatch Review: Well-done hardware, but half-baked software
