Even though it’s common to lose a pregnancy, few women expect it will happen to them. One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage and 1 in 160 babies are stillborn or die within 30 days of birth. The three of us know these odds too well: We experienced these tragic statistics firsthand. See also: Greeting cards to help comfort a woman who experienced miscarriage We each have our own unique experiences. We live with them every day. But Oct. 15, National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, is a solemn yet beautiful occasion to reflect on our losses. It is also an opportunity to let other women who share this experience know that they are not alone. More and more of these conversations are happening on social media, which allows people to circle a common fire, exchange their stories and create a new way to talk openly about loss and healing. We hope that by sharing our experiences, it will help others find solace in their grief, and a way to move on from heartbreak. … [Read more...] about Finding hope when a pregnancy suddenly ends

Live in the audience for the final ‘Grease: Live’ dress rehearsal
BURBANK, Calif. — "Does this look Grease enough?" I asked my friend, adjusting my leather jacket and red heels. "Totally," she reassured me. It was 1 p.m. on Saturday — technically the call time for audience members for Fox's Grease: Live dress rehearsal — but I was running a late due to outfit selection difficulties. Fox had sent invited press, as well as selected audience members, a guide on how to dress for the dress rehearsal ahead of time. The three-hour live musical telecast, directed by Thomas Kail (who also directed Broadway's smash hit Hamilton ) stars Julianne Hough as innocent transfer student Sandy and Aaron Tveit as leading T-Bird Danny. Also on board: Vanessa Hudgens as leading Pink Lady Rizzo, Keke Palmer (Scream Queens) as the sassy Pink Lady Marty Maraschino, Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush) as Danny’s tough-guy sidekick Kenickie, and Grammy-nominated pop artist Carly Rae Jepsen as beauty school dropout Frenchy. The show airs live on Fox on Sunday night. … [Read more...] about Live in the audience for the final ‘Grease: Live’ dress rehearsal
‘The Good Wife’ just staged its latest major elevator moment
After 11 episodes of build-up, it finally happened: Alicia and Jason kissed — in an elevator, because this is The Good Wife and elevators are where some of the most personal, emotional, timing dependent moments happen on this show. The kiss, along with several other things that happen in Sunday's episode, "Judged," is part of the series' attempt to tighten its storytelling up and to start bringing it's many threads closer together. With its eye toward moving on, "Judged" shakes off some of the cobwebs. See also: A familiar face brought Alicia and Cary together again in the latest 'Good Wife' When the episode opens, Alicia is still unable to focus on work because she's so focused on that deleted voicemail. She decides to pay Eli a visit and demands to hear everything Will said in the voicemail. As Eli points out, this is an exercise in torture that will do very little to ease Alicia's hurt. Alicia's lack of focus is even starting to annoy Lucca, and she calls Alicia out on … [Read more...] about ‘The Good Wife’ just staged its latest major elevator moment
E3 2021’s in-person event has been canceled, according to city tourism board
In a nutshell: While the world moves in the right direction when it comes to fighting Covid, an in-person E3 this year always felt like wishful thinking. Now, LA City documents appear to confirm that the physical event has been canceled. Resetera user Rösti discovered a special meeting schedule for the Board of Los Angeles Convention and Tourism Development on the city's official website. It lists E3 2021 as a "canceled live event in 2021." The document also notes that the board is working with the ESA production team on broadcast options at the LA Convention Center, as well as a license for 2022 and 2023 events. The news isn't too surprising. We heard reports earlier this month that E3 was set to be an online-only event . The ESA said it was "transforming the E3 experience for 2021," though not all game companies seem onboard with the idea of an online format. In the same month that E3 takes place, another massive conference, Mobile World Congress, will return as … [Read more...] about E3 2021’s in-person event has been canceled, according to city tourism board
