Feature By William Gallagher Saturday, April 27, 2019, 02:36 pm PT (05:36 pm ET) Apple is being praised for disrupting the credit card industry with its forthcoming Apple Card, but Amazon is already offering a lot of the same benefits —and you even get a metal credit card from them, too. AppleInsider breaks the two down.Apple Card is Apple's foray into personal finance, that has no fees and which pays you money every time you use it. You can use it online the instant you're approved, and the physical card you get sent is shiny metal. Maybe the fees and cash side are more important than the metal card, but they're all reasons to like Apple Card —which means you should also like Amazon's equivalents. We still have a while to wait before Apple Card is released, but you've long been able to get not just one but two different credit cards from Amazon that appear to do the same thing. In practice, there are subtle though significant differences, but Amazon's credit card is a … [Read more...] about Apple Card vs Amazon Prime Rewards Visa: which credit card offers the most cash back and best perks?
Amazon renewed its quirky superhero series The Tick for a second season all the way back in January last year, and we finally know when you can expect the next batch of episodes on Prime Video. Along with the April 5th release date, Amazon released a trailer showing the some of the offbeat antics and wordplay to expect this time around. Ironically, the conventional wisdom shifted just in time for an economic shakeup so profound and widespread that it’s been called a “retail apocalypse.”Iconic department stores like Sears are faltering, malls are closing, and longtime chains like the Gap — once ubiquitous in downtowns and suburbs alike — are shutting stores. There are several reasons for the collapse, but one is the rise of online shopping, led by Amazon and Walmart, which have made it possible to get the same stuff these stores sold without ever leaving the house. In even the most walkable Boston neighborhoods with ample retail stores nearby, delivery drivers ply the streets, dropping off Amazon Prime boxes on the stoops of brownstones and in … [Read more...] about How Amazon Prime will change the way our cities look
Can't wait to watch the new Aquaman movie? If you're an Amazon Prime member, you'll be able to get in on the action a few days early. Dec. 15, in fact, is the date on which Prime members will get their Jason Momoa on in the latest from the DC franchise. You'll buy the tickets through Atom, which is one of our favorite ways to get tickets these days anyway. The movie is about objectifying actor Jason Momoa for nearly two and a half hours. The movie also is about the following: Ready for a deep dive into the kingdom of Atlantis? After his introduction in 2017's Justice League, Jason Momoa returns as Arthur Curry, the superhero known as Aquaman, as he faces off against his half-brother King Orm (Patrick Wilson) with the fate of the surface world hanging in the balance. Amber Heard is back as Mera, while newcomers to the DC universe include Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Graham McTavish, Randall Park, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta… and a host of underwater … [Read more...] about You can see Aquaman early in theaters — if you’re an Amazon Prime member
