Former President Donald Trump is maintaining a double-digit lead over potential primary challenger Gov. Ron DeSantis, a recent Ipsos/Reuters survey found. The survey asked respondents who they would support in the 2024 Republican primary, listing Trump, DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former Rep. Liz Cheney, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Among Republicans, specifically, Trump leads by 14 points — 44 percent to DeSantis’s 30 percent support. No other potential challenger comes close, as Pence comes in third place with five percent support, followed by Cheney (four percent), and Haley (three percent). Every other individual listed saw one percent support or less. Eleven percent of Republicans said they do not know who they would choose — not enough to make up for Trump’s 14-point lead among Republicans. … [Read more...] about Poll: Trump Maintains Double-Digit Lead Against DeSantis

Megyn Kelly Calls Out DeSantis for Refusing to Sit Down for an Interview
Former Fox News star Megyn Kelly, host of the Megyn Kelly Show , criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for failing to sit down for an interview on the show, speculating that he is “afraid” and lambasting many of her colleagues in the field of journalism for putting their desire to get chummy with potential presidential candidates over their job to represent their audience and seek the truth. In a clip shared Monday, Kelly revealed that her team has asked DeSantis to come on her show, but he “has not said yes.” “I find that very interesting. You know, I love Piers Morgan. He’s a pal of mine. But why would you go sit with the British guy and not come on the show?” Kelly said, speculating the true reason for it. "He's afraid. I'm just gonna put this out there – he is afraid because he knows the kind of interview that I would give him. He's not gonna get a pass." @MegynKelly reveals why Ron DeSantis won't come on The #MegynKellyShow . A front-runner emerges in the European small launcher race
There are essentially three areas in the world where clusters of private companies have started to develop small launch vehicles. The first such cluster emerged in the United States nearly two decades ago with SpaceX, which was then followed by Rocket Lab and about a dozen other serious companies. Next came China, with a profusion of quasi-private companies leveraging technology from the country's state-owned launch enterprises with private funding. The final region that has emerged in the last five years is in Europe. This European small launcher race has essentially followed a US model, with venture capital and investors backing a number of privately led efforts to develop commercially viable small satellite launchers. Much of this activity has been clustered in Germany and Great Britain, but Spanish and French companies are also in play. Because none of the dozen or so European companies have actually attempted an orbital launch attempt yet, it can be difficult to tell who is … [Read more...] about A front-runner emerges in the European small launcher race
UK Hikes Ulster Terror Threat to ‘Severe’, Means Attack ‘Highly Likely’
LONDON (AP) – The U.K.´s MI5 intelligence service on Tuesday raised the terrorism threat level in Northern Ireland´ to “severe” amid an increase in activity by dissident Irish republican militants. Severe is the second-highest rung on a five-point scale and means an attack is considered highly likely. The threat had stood one notch lower at “substantial” for the past year. Paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland laid down their arms after the 1998 Good Friday peace accord largely ended three decades of violent conflict between Irish republican and British loyalist groups and U.K. security forces that killed more than 3,600 people. But small Irish Republican Army splinter groups have continued to launch sporadic attacks on security forces. U.K. Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris said that “in recent months, we have seen an increase in levels of activity relating to Northern Ireland-related terrorism, which has targeted police officers serving their communities and … [Read more...] about UK Hikes Ulster Terror Threat to ‘Severe’, Means Attack ‘Highly Likely’
