NVIDIA A100 Aces Throughput, Latency Results in Key Inference Benchmark for Financial Services Industry

February 2, 2023 by blogs.nvidia.com Leave a Comment

NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs running on Supermicro servers have captured leading results for inference in the latest STAC-ML Markets benchmark, a key technology performance gauge for the financial services industry. The results show NVIDIA demonstrating unrivaled throughput — serving up thousands of inferences per second on the most demanding models — and top latency on the latest STAC-ML inference standard. The results are closely followed by financial institutions, three-quarters of which rely on machine learning, deep learning or high performance computing, according to a recent survey . NVIDIA A100: Top Latency Results The STAC-ML inference benchmark is designed to measure the latency of long short-term memory (LSTM) model inference — the time from receiving new input data until the model output is computed. LSTM is a key model approach used to discover financial time-series data like asset prices. The benchmark includes three LSTM models of increasing complexity. … [Read more...] about NVIDIA A100 Aces Throughput, Latency Results in Key Inference Benchmark for Financial Services Industry

Exclusive — Rep. Thomas Massie Vows to Strip Ukraine Funding from Must-Pass Spending Bills

February 2, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he believes he and other conservatives would separate Ukraine funding from must-pass spending bills. Massie spoke to Breitbart News as the United States is preparing to send tanks to Ukraine, a move that Biden said in March would result in “World War III.” The Kentucky lawmaker, who represents the interventionist wing of the Republican Party, has long opposed aid and entangling the United States in what is now increasingly becoming a protracted conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Massie noted that Americans have increasingly soured on America’s seemingly endless support for Ukraine’s conflict with Russia, and how congressional leadership moved to attach aid to must-pass spending bills such as a continuing resolution (CR) or omnibus spending bill. He described this move as “abhorrent” and “despicable” for our Republic. America has so far provided more than $113 billion in military and economic aid … [Read more...] about Exclusive — Rep. Authorities arrest Sam Bankman-Fried on FTX fraud and money laundering

December 13, 2022 by www.techspot.com Leave a Comment

What just happened? Investors taken to the cleaners by Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX exchange will probably be pleased to hear that the man who admittedly made a lot of "mistakes" that cost them their money is in police custody today on fraud and money laundering charges. He was arrested last night in his Bahamian headquarters at the request of US officials. Sam Bankman-Fried was scheduled to testify before Congress today, but he won't make that appointment. Bahamian police arrested the former cryptocurrency magnate on Monday night at the request of US authorities. Bankman-Fried will remain in custody in the Bahamas as he awaits extradition to the United States. "S.B.F.'s arrest followed receipt of formal notification from the United States that it has filed criminal charges against S.B.F. and is likely to request his extradition," said Bahamian officials. The New York Times reports that prosecutors confirmed that they had pressed charges against SBF in a sealed indictment to be … [Read more...] about Authorities arrest Sam Bankman-Fried on FTX fraud and money laundering

Lowe’s Iris Smart Hub (Second Generation) Review

September 30, 2021 by www.pcmag.com Leave a Comment

Perhaps the most highly visible home automation hub thanks to its placement in Lowe's stores around the country, the Iris Smart Hub ($59.99) is a reasonably priced device that controls numerous Iris-branded and third-party devices, including contact and motion sensors, thermostats, locks , and more. It contains circuitry to control Z-Wave and ZigBee smart home products , supports Amazon Alexa voice commands, and is relatively easy to install. However, it lacks the versatility of our Editors' Choice, the Wink Hub 2 , and requires a subscription to unlock its full potential. Design and Features is considerably smaller than the Wink Hub 2 (7.2 by 1.2 by 7.2 inches) and just a tad deeper than Samsung's SmartThings Hub ($69.99 at Home Depot) (Opens in a new window) (1.3 by 4.2 by 4.9 inches). It has a white finish, with an Ethernet port and two USB ports on the back, alongside a power jack and a reset button. Three LED indicators on the front glow solid green when … [Read more...] about Lowe’s Iris Smart Hub (Second Generation) Review
