The editor in chief of Mobile Review, Eldar Murtazin, is the consummate insider when dealing with the subject of mobile phones. So those with more than just a passing interest in cellphones found themselves immediately energized by a short, but to the point Tweet from Mr. Murtazin this morning. It read, "Foxconn received order for next generation iPhone". This would certainly make sense as to the timeline that the guys from Cupertino have locked themselves into with mid-year introductions and launches of the next iPhone model. As to what the next gen iPhone will be like, as we reported earlier today, prominent Wall Street Analyst Gene Munster says that there is a 70% chance that the next new iPhone feature is merely a new CDMA version for Big Red. Frankly, we'd love to hear what Mr. Murtazin knows about the next gen iPhone and we eagerly await his next Tweet on the subject. As for you, what changes do you expect to see on the next iPhone?Apple iPhone 3GS Specifications | Reviewsource: … [Read more...] about Foxconn received order to build next-gen iPhone?
Pegatron, which is currently one of the OEMs that manufacture the iPhone 4S and the new iPad , is rumored to have already received orders from Apple for the iPhone 5 and, pretty unbelievable, a 10" iPad. Digitimes says the next iPhone is to be announced in September, and the 10-incher in the fourth quarter, while a 7" Apple tablet is to be manufactured by Foxconn for an August release. The rumors on the tablet front seem quite out of whack, so we wouldn't lose much sleep over them, plus they may be just trial runs, which companies like Apple do all the time to check on the end result, but the iPhone 5 rumor is pretty plausible. Last year, the iPhone 4S was announced in October, so it's not far-fetched to assume that the next one will be available about a year after, if history is any indication, complete with the eventual larger display, and the obligatory LTE radio . … [Read more...] about Pegatron said to already be receiving orders for the iPhone 5 and a 10″ iPad, of all things
Taiwan's Industrial and Commercial Times spilled the beans that Apple supplier Pegatron has received 15% of orders to manufacture and assemble Apple's upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone 6. The next iPhone's announcement is scheduled for September. The supplier will produce 50 million iPhones by the end of this year, including the iPhone 6, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 4S. In addition to Pegatron, long-time Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn has been tasked with iPhone 6 production as well. It has already recruited workers at its new factory in Kunshan, China to meet demand. Production is scheduled to start in the second quarter of this year, perhaps in July. Once again, the report mentions that a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be announced in September, while a phablet-sized 5.5-inch iPhone will follow later. Also, the purported iPhone Air name isn't being mentioned anywhere. For more information on Apple's next flagship, take a look at our iPhone 6 rumor round-up. We'll be updating it as new bits of … [Read more...] about Chinese supplier Pegatron has received orders to manufacture 4.7-inch iPhone 6 for September announcement

Just weeks before the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus are to be unveiled, three Taiwan companies have reportedly joined the supply chain for the 2017 Apple iPhone. One of the companies is TSMC, which has supposedly received orders from Apple to produce the Apple A11 chipset based on the 10nm process. TSMC is expected to produce 100% of the A10 chips to be employed in the 2016 iPhone models. Another firm from that country, MPI, will provide probe cards for TSMC's wafer testing. Chipboard is another Taiwan based company that is believed to be involved in the supply chain for the 2017 iPhone models.
