India tech stack: Govt expects 5-7 countries to sign up for adopting India tech stack by March
The government expects five to seven countries to sign up for adopting India-developed technology platforms like UPI and Aadhaar by March for accelerating digitisation, according to Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar . While speaking at India Stack Developer Conference , the minister said that the Prime Minister has decided to offer India technology platforms to countries to help them accelerate digitisation. "I expect by February-March, about 5-7 countries around the world to sign up (for adopting platforms)," Chandrasekhar said. Electronics manufacturing in the country is expected to cross Rs 1.28 lakh crore in the next financial year, Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said. The minister, in an interview with PTI, said the government is now going to broaden and widen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem with a new production-linked incentive scheme for hearable-wearable, IT hardware and component makers. "Electronics manufacturing as a whole, we see next year that we will at least do Rs 1.28 lakh crore. I have already said that we will see mobile phone production reaching Rs 1 lakh crore in 2023-24," Chandrasekhar said. There has been a focus on mobile phones because it is the fastest-growing segment in electronics across the world, he added. Government employees banned from using VPNs in India
Audio player loading… In the latest chapter of India's ongoing battle against online privacy software, government employees are now barred from using third-party VPN services. The new directive came following the decision of some of the best VPNs to shut down their Indian servers amid privacy concerns over new data law . So far, ExpressVPN , Surfshark and NordVPN have all announced they will physically leave the country before CERT-in directives come into force on June 27. The Indian government is also urging employees to avoid storing any internal or confidential information on non-government cloud services such as Google Drive and Dropbox.
