Best answer: No, the USB-C 3.1 port on the Surface Go does not support Thunderbolt 3. You still get data transfer, display out, and charging, but not the extra speed associated with Thunderbolt 3. However, with the right dock, like the Plugable USB-C 4K docking station, you can get that support. Amazon: Plugable USB-C 4K docking station (From $199) What can the Surface Go's USB-C port do? Despite not supporting Thunderbolt 3, the USB-C 3.1 port on the Surface Go still supports data transfer rates up to 10Gbps (Thunderbolt 3 supports up to 40Gbps), it can work with two 4K displays with the right dock, and it will charge the Go at up to about 45W where it limits itself. It is reminiscent of a ladybug, hence the name. When comparing any of Apple's MacBook chargers to the PlugBug, it feels a bit cheap or hollow. Of course, that is because it is. Apple's charger is still doing all the heavy lifting, with only the USB ports drawing power directly from the PlugBug. Originally on the PlugBug World, there was a single USB 2.1A USB-A port. This time, there is a pair of ports —a … [Read more...] about Hands on: PlugBug Duo attaches to MacBook Pro charger, gives travelers two USB charging ports
By Malcolm Owen Thursday, July 05, 2018, 08:59 am PT (11:59 am ET) Introduced as a new iPad screen size replacing the 9.7-inch iPad Pro in July 2017, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro has been available for almost an entire year. AppleInsider takes another look at the Apple Pencil-equipped performance tablet to see how it's fared 12 months after launch. It's been about a year since Apple released the 10.5" iPad Pro, the first iPad to ever sport a 10.5-inch screen, and I've gotta say, it's almost perfect. Apple slimmed the bezels and slightly enlarged the frame of a traditional 9.7-inch iPad to fit a larger screen, making it more sleek and modern compared to other models in the range, even the similar-specification 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Apple started marketing the iPad Pro as a notebook replacement after the release of iOS 11. Given some of the features it introduced around the time, Apple was right to be confident it could handle the workload. iOS productivity improvements Two of the most … [Read more...] about A year with the 10.5-inch iPad Pro: the ideal worker’s tablet
