Researchers have built a primitive microprocessor out of a two-dimensional material similar to graphene, the flexible conductive wonder material that some believe will revolutionize the design and manufacture of batteries, sensors and chips. With only 115 transistors, their processor isn't going to top any benchmark rankings, but it's "a first step towards the development of microprocessors based on 2D semiconductors," the researchers at Vienna University of Technology said in a paper published in the journal Nature this month.Two-dimensional materials have the benefit of flexibility, meaning that they can be incorporated more easily into wearable devices or connected sensors, which potentially makes them less breakable: Picture a smartphone that bends rather than breaks if you drop it.Today's semiconductors and screens are already pretty thin, but they still rely on the three-dimensional physical properties of the materials they're made from in order to function. Bend a silicon wafer … [Read more...] about Researchers build a microprocessor from flexible materials

My girlfriend couldnt handle the 3d at all,her eyes were sore almost immediately from 3d viewing. posted on 25 Jul 2011, 09:26 2 3. wumberpeb (Posts: 453; Member since: 14 Mar 2011) Showing customers the Evo3D will land you either of these two reactions... posted on 25 Jul 2011, 09:53 0 5. For a second week in a row now, PhoneArena and RadioShack are giving you the chance to get your hands on some pretty cool Android smartphones, for free! Last week, Verizon customers had a chance to snatch the mighty DROID RAZR and BIONIC, and now it's time to take care of Sprint's users as well! For those lucky fellows, what we have here are a Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, and a Motorola PHOTON 4G, which means we'll again have not one, but two winners. As you probably already know, this month (April 1-28) is RadioShack's Mobile Makeover Month, which aims to help you get rid of some unused technology by guaranteeing a minimum $30 (and a maximum $300) trade-in value for your old phone, upon purchasing a new one. Of course, you can trade-in all kinds of working gear: phones, cameras, MP3 players, etc., so you not only get rid of old tech and make a few bucks along the way, but you also help keep the environment clean. You can trade your old device in at a retail RadioShack location, … [Read more...] about Giveaway: Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch and Motorola PHOTON 4G

Choices, choices. posted on 23 Apr 2012, 23:46 3 3. belovedson (Posts: 1060; Member since: 30 Nov 2010) This is a first. I never knew Sprint considered the Photon the flagship model. Out of the trio I am positive it sold the least. In fact I have only seen a handful out in the wild, while I saw tons of Evo's and SG2's. posted on 23 Apr 2012, 23:50 2 4.
