· February 1, 2016 ·

LOS ANGELES — Even El Niño couldn't stop Fox's Grease Live from hand-jiving its way into our hearts. The three-hour broadcast, which aired Sunday night, marked the network's memorable foray into the world of televised live musicals. · January 16, 2016 ·

PASADENA, Calif. — Eagle-eyed Grease fanatics are in for a treat when the musical comes to Fox later this month. Producers on Friday announced that while John Travolta and Olivia Newton John are not set to appear in the live production, two former Grease cast members will — Didi Conn and Barry Pearl, who played Frenchy and Doody, respectively. Both will be playing new roles. See also: Learn how to rock 'The Danny Look' in new look at Fox's 'Grease: Live' Director Thomas Kail, who also directed Broadway favorite Hamilton , said their casting was to "pay respect" to the original cast. "We do have a moment where we have the generations staring at each other and having this really wonderful scene," said Kail. "That was pretty thrilling to watch, to say the least."
