[Read more...] about Nothing Phone (1) lanseres i juli – rent faktisk denne gangen

Astound Broadband/RCN Home Internet Review: Great Starting Price, but Beware a Steep Increase
7.0 Astound/RCN home internet service Like Low first-year pricing No data caps No contracts Don't Like Limited availability to metro areas Sharp price increase in the second year of service Confusing equipment fees This week, Astound Broadband announced a nationwide launch of a new internet speed tier featuring download speeds up to 1,200 megabits per second. That puts it right in a dead heat with Xfinity for the fastest cable broadband plan available nationally. Not too shabby. But I have to be honest. I nearly titled this review "Confusion in Cable Land." Why? Because my eyes glazed as I pored over the differences in offerings for the six metro markets covered by Astound Broadband Powered by RCN (whoa, that's a mouthful!). But that hardly matters for most of you unless you're planning to relocate from one Astound Broadband market to another . What matters most is what Astound/RCN offers in … [Read more...] about Astound Broadband/RCN Home Internet Review: Great Starting Price, but Beware a Steep Increase
Oppo Reno 8 Pro review: Style and substance
Rating Critic 3.5 Top Features Striking design Great performance Dependable battery life A good-looking smartphone can often tilt the balance in its favour as it does play an important role in the buyers’ minds. Oppo has given us some of the best-looking smartphones with its Reno series. For years the formula had been the same – a spectacular design with impressive but not the greatest internals, and the Reno 8 Pro is no different. Priced at Rs 45,999, the Reno 8 Pro falls in the premium mid-range segment. While the design shouts premium, the internals are not-so-premium. The Reno 8 Pro comes with a powerful, if not the most powerful, Mediatek Dimensity 8100-Max paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Aiding the Dimensity chip is Oppo's own MariSilicon X NPU, promising to handle imaging chops. Then, there's an AMOLED display, a 50MP camera and a 32MP one on the front. , The thing with a lot of Oppo, OnePlus and … [Read more...] about Oppo Reno 8 Pro review: Style and substance

What's happening Samsung's annual August Unpacked, where the company detailed its updated line of foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 will get one of our favorite last-gen perks, a $100 price cut . The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is official, brings Android 12L’s new taskbar
It's time for a new round of Samsung foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are official . Both devices hit stores on August 26, and the prices haven't changed from last year: It's $1,799 for the Fold 4 and $999 for the Flip 4 . The Z Fold 4—the one that opens up like a tablet—is getting a few millimeters wider this year, and it has a 6.2-inch, 120 Hz, 2316×904 outer OLED display. The Z Fold 3's outer display had a skinny 25:9 aspect ratio, but the Fold 4's is at 23.1:9, getting closer to a normal 19:9 aspect ratio. The inner display is wider, too—it's a 7.6-inch, 2176×1812, 120 Hz OLED display. The device's thickness hasn't really changed—when open, the phone is 6.3 mm thick, and it's 15.8 mm thick when folded up, thanks to the hinge gap. Other specs include a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 4400 mAh battery with 25 W charging. Samsung puts the dust and water ingress rating at "IPX8," meaning there's no dust resistance, but the device is … [Read more...] about The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is official, brings Android 12L’s new taskbar
Samsung’s all alone at the foldable party
Samsung is throwing itself a party tomorrow with a couple of guests of honor: its foldable phones. We’ll likely see some updated watches and earbuds , but really, it’s a birthday party for the Z Fold and the Z Flip. They’ve been around for years now, but last August was when they really hit their stride with the most mainstream models yet. We’re probably not going to see any dramatic upgrades or shocking price drops this year because Samsung doesn’t need to produce any of those thrills. It owns the foldable phone category, and it likely will for some time. It’s a foldable party with a guest list of one: Samsung. Lest we forget, early iterations of the Fold and Flip were a little half-baked: awkward, too expensive, and not durable enough. But they got better. Last year’s Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 felt almost normal, with robust water resistance and better usability. Meanwhile, the rest of Samsung’s competitors seem to be stuck on early design iterations or not showing up at all. … [Read more...] about Samsung’s all alone at the foldable party

Apple accuses Qualcomm of operating illegal business model
Apple has fired a new salvo in its ongoing legal battle with Qualcomm over wireless patent royalties. In a federal court filing Tuesday, the company cited a Supreme Court ruling last month that a printer-cartridge maker's patent rights end with the initial sale of the cartridges. This precedent, Apple says, strengthens its argument that Qualcomm cannot continue to demand royalties for the patents after selling its chips. In that case the court found that patent law cannot be used to prevent the resale of Lexmark printer cartridges refilled with toner by other suppliers. Apple likened this to how Qualcomm requires customers to sign patent license agreements before purchasing chips, which the US Federal Trade Commission called in its own complaint a "no license, no chips" model. The license allows Qualcomm to take a percentage of the overall iPhone selling price in exchange for supplying the modem chips that let phones connect to cellular data networks. "This is precisely the … [Read more...] about Apple accuses Qualcomm of operating illegal business model
