Donald Trump Hits Back at Ron DeSantis: ‘Take a Look at His Polls’

March 22, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Former President Donald Trump shot back at Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday by pointing to polling numbers after the governor recently criticized him. “Ron DeSanctimonious is running—without running! … But he should take a look at his Polls, which are crashing like few people have seen before,” Trump said. “That’s because he’s merely an average REPUBLICAN Governor who has great Public Relations, far better than deserved.” A Monmouth University poll released Tuesday revealed that 41 percent of GOP voters want Trump to win the GOP nomination, putting him 14 points above DeSantis’s 27 percent. Additional recent polling has also shown Trump trouncing DeSantis in a hypothetical matchup. Trump continued to attack “DeSanctimonious” in a second Truth Social post. Referencing DeSantis’s interview with Piers Morgan in which he decided to engage with the former president, Trump said the interview was a desperate attempt to “rescue his failing Campaign.” DeSantis has not yet announced … [Read more...] about Donald Trump Hits Back at Ron DeSantis: ‘Take a Look at His Polls’

combines the past and present

When Bloom County appeared for the first time in the Rocky Mountain News in December 1980, 13-year-old me immediately took notice. The style and characters were reminiscent of Doonesbury ( Bloom County author Berkeley Breathed has acknowledged the influence of Garry Trudeau’s comic), but it was fresh, goofy, and, most of the time, hilarious. Not only was Breathed’s artistic ability obvious even when compressed into a few square inches of newsprint, it also stood out from the likes of B.C. , Wizard of ID , Blondie , and other comic-page stalwarts for its sharp and satirical humor. Every character Breathed introduced quickly found a home in Bloom County ‘s twisted little world, especially Bill the Cat, who was introduced to satirize Jim Davis’ continuous attempts to pump out Garfield merchandise. The strip had a great run until Breathed discontinued it in August 1989, much to the disappointment of his millions of fans. Breathed was the first artist to walk away from a … [Read more...] about combines the past and present

BBC Soccer Presenter Destroys Twitter Troll After His Indecent Question

March 22, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

BBC presenter Emma Jones is a formidable force when discussing soccer, and, as it turns out, she’s a formidable force when dealing with Twitter trolls as well. Jones is a presenter on BBC’s Match of the Day . Though, when not on the air discussing soccer, she sometimes finds herself having to deal with online trolls who make indecent proposals or ask indecent questions. On Monday, Jones found one particular troll who asked her something that was…shall we say…highly inappropriate. But it’s hard to imagine anyone putting down a troll more savagely than she did. (You can look up the troll’s question for yourself). “Alexa, what does a virgin look like?” Jones responded . Emma Jones, BBC Sport, Premier Sport TV & Leeds United TV, on the SportsTrade stage during day one of Web Summit 2022 at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal. (Sam Barnes/Sportsfile for Web Summit via Getty Images) Jones has a history of humiliating vulgar trolls. In 2022, an Instagram user wrote … [Read more...] about BBC Soccer Presenter Destroys Twitter Troll After His Indecent Question

Atrial fibrillation and arrhythmia: Causes, symptoms and treatment

February 21, 2023 by www.livescience.com Leave a Comment

An arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat, is a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. People with this condition may have a heart that beats too quickly, too slowly or has an irregular rhythm. While it is normal to feel as if your heart skips a beat occasionally, a frequent irregular rhythm may lead to palpitations, dizziness and other symptoms, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (opens in new tab) (NHLBI). Arrhythmias may occur when there is a problem with the heart's electrical system. In the case of atrial fibrillation, also known as A-fib or AF, the result is that the top chambers of the heart contract irregularly. "Atrial fibrillation is the most common arrhythmia," said Dr. Lawrence Phillips, a cardiologist and assistant professor at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City. "It's caused [by] irregular impulses coming from the top chamber of the heart." Atrial fibrillation may cause heart disease or worsen existing heart … [Read more...] about Atrial fibrillation and arrhythmia: Causes, symptoms and treatment

Feral hogs are the invasive menace you’ve never thought about

March 22, 2023 by arstechnica.com Leave a Comment

Think of the worst invasive species you know. Kudzu: smothering trees and houses, growing a foot a day. Burmese pythons: stripping the Everglades of small animals. Asian carp : hoovering streams clean of plankton and swimming toward the Great Lakes. They all came from somewhere else, arrived with no natural predators, outcompeted local flora and fauna, and took over whole ecosystems. But they all have their limitations: Kudzu dies in a hard freeze, carp can’t tolerate salt water, and pythons can’t cover long distances very fast. (Thankfully.) Now imagine a species with all those benefits—foreign origin, no enemies—and no roadblocks to dominance: One that is indifferent to temperature, comfortable in many landscapes, able to run a lot faster than you, and muscular enough to leave a big dent in your car. That describes any of the possibly 6 million feral hogs in the United States, the most intractable invasives that most people have never heard of. Feral hogs—or wild pigs, wild … [Read more...] about Feral hogs are the invasive menace you’ve never thought about
