The affordable Jabra Elite 4 could have the top wireless buds shaking in their boots

March 22, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Jabra has just taken the wraps off its latest pair of true wireless earbuds, the Elite 4. Taking the place of the outgoing Elite 3 and slotting in at the more affordable end of the company’s lineup of in-ears, the Elite 4 brings plenty to the table to potentially worry the best budget wireless earbuds . Notable reasons for our bold claim are the inclusion of active noise cancelation (ANC) and a price tag of $99.99 / £99.99 / AU$139. While we’ll have to hold back our opinion on how they sound, they do appear to share the same 6mm driver that’s fitted to other pairs of Jabra’s Elite earbuds, such as the Elite 7 Pro. In our Elite 7 Pro review , we did find the audio profile out of the box to be a little bass heavy, although it can be customized by way of a companion app, which is also the case here thanks to Jabra’s Sound+ app. What’s also pleasing to see is that Jabra has included support for the Qualcomm aptX codec, which promises to deliver improved audio quality over … [Read more...] about The affordable Jabra Elite 4 could have the top wireless buds shaking in their boots

Jabra Elite 4 oordopjes leveren noise-cancelling voor minder dan 100 euro

March 22, 2023 by global.techradar.com Leave a Comment

[Read more...] about Jabra Elite 4 oordopjes leveren noise-cancelling voor minder dan 100 euro

GNOME 44 Is Here to Make Your Linux PC Better Than Ever

March 22, 2023 by www.howtogeek.com Leave a Comment

GNOME serves as the default desktop environment for countless Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu and Fedora . GNOME 44 has now been released, with changes that will show up in upcoming Linux distro updates. GNOME 44 has been under development for the past six months, and most of the work has gone into the Settings app. It’s no easy task to organize all of the options, toggles, and links needed for a desktop PC — as we’ve learned from Windows 10/11 and macOS Ventura . The accessibility panel has been redesigned to be more clear, and new options have been added for keyboard features, over-amplification for audio, and making the scrollbars always visible. The sound panel has also been updated, with volume level controls in a separate window. The Mouse & Touchpad section now has integrated videos to demonstrate each option, plus a new testing window and mouse acceleration setting. GNOME 44 also has improvements to the quick settings menu that was introduced in the … [Read more...] about GNOME 44 Is Here to Make Your Linux PC Better Than Ever

Microsoft is scaring Windows 11 users with a false security warning – but don’t panic

March 22, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Windows 11 has seen the unwelcome return of an old bug whereby the system is warning that something’s wrong with the security of the user’s PC, when in fact there’s nothing amiss at all. This is a glitch in the operating system’s Security app which reports that “Standard hardware security not supported,” telling the user that their device fails to meet the requirements for ‘standard’ hardware security. Clearly, then, that’s informing you that your PC’s hardware isn’t up to scratch on the security front, visually flagging this with a little yellow warning triangle on the taskbar, as multiple Neowin readers have reported (opens in new tab) . The tech site also uncovered a number of complaints on Microsoft’s Feedback Hub relating to this bug which has been around since June 2022 – apparently resurfacing now. The truth is that there’s nothing wrong with the PC’s security at all, it’s just a bug causing the system to misreport a problem that doesn’t exist. From … [Read more...] about Microsoft is scaring Windows 11 users with a false security warning – but don’t panic

Microsoft Loop is The Ultimate Team Collab Tool

March 22, 2023 by www.howtogeek.com Leave a Comment

Microsoft already has a comprehensive work suite under Microsoft 365 . The best part of it, though, is that it gets constantly updated not only with new features, but occasionally with new software as well. The newest member of the 365 family is here: Microsoft Loop. Loop had already been announced more than a year ago. You can think of it as Microsoft’s competitor to Notion, or Google Workspace Spaces — a versatile collaboration tool where you can track progress towards goals, and work on “blocks” that you can then paste on programs like Word or Outlook. But while it had already been announced, you couldn’t actually use it yet. Now, it’s available as a public preview, letting anyone who wants to check it out do so. Microsoft Microsoft Loop is complete with all those cool new features Microsoft has been adding to the 365 suite of software, including Copilot , which employs the power of generative AI seamlessly to your workflow. Loop can be a great tool for … [Read more...] about Microsoft Loop is The Ultimate Team Collab Tool

Your iPhone calls will soon sound as good as they do on WhatsApp

March 22, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Apple’s iOS 16.3.1 update brought basic bug fixes to iCloud and Siri, but the company’s next software patch, iOS 16.4, looks set to introduce more tangible improvements to the ways in which your iPhone handles everyday tasks. Among the features set to arrive with iOS 16.4 is Voice Isolation; a neat little tool that blocks out ambient noise during cellular calls to prioritize the quality of your voice. In other words, you’ll soon be able to better hear the person you're chatting with over the phone, and they’ll be able to better hear you too. Voice Isolation is actually a feature that’s been available for some time on VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls, made through apps like WhatsApp, but Apple says (opens in new tab) the tool will finally be making its way to cellular iPhone calls with iOS 16.4, which is expected to begin rolling out "later this Spring" (in other words, sometime between March and June 2023). Apple has also confirmed that Voice Isolation will … [Read more...] about Your iPhone calls will soon sound as good as they do on WhatsApp

March 20, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Basketball fans interested in getting regular email updates from the NBA may have had some of their personal data stolen, the body has confirmed. The NBA has sent out a “Notice of cybersecurity incident” to an “unknown number” of fans, BleepingComputer reported. In the notice, the organization said that some fans who were signed up for email marketing services such as newsletters may have had their names and emails taken by an unknown threat actor. This data was kept by a third party newsletter service tasked with sending out email notifications and news. Passwords are safe "We recently became aware that an unauthorized third party gained access to, and obtained a copy of, your name and email address, which was held by a third-party service provider that helps us communicate via email with fans who have shared this information with the NBA," the NBA said. Microsoft to make it easier for users to switch default apps on Windows 11

March 20, 2023 by www.gadgetsnow.com Leave a Comment

Microsoft 's management of app defaults in Windows 11 has received consistent criticism. Compared to Windows 10, the newer operating system complicates the process for users who wish to use third-party applications instead of Microsoft's default offerings. However, that may change soon as Microsoft plans to ease things for those who want to change the default apps on Windows 11. Microsoft, in a blog post, said it is “reaffirming our long-standing approach to put people in control of their Windows PC experience,” announcing the new feature for Windows 11 users that will let them easily control changes to their app defaults. How the new Windows 11 feature will work In Windows 11, if a user prefers not to use Edge as their default browser, they must navigate to the Settings menu and change the default app based on file and link types, which takes up quite some time. But now, Microsoft is introducing a new Settings deep link URI scheme for developers, … [Read more...] about Microsoft to make it easier for users to switch default apps on Windows 11

Google Pixel Superfans are getting exclusive invites to try out Bard – and I’m jealous

March 21, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

The AI chatbot race is well underway and companies are in a mad dash to shove quirky, sometimes snippy little chatbots into our lives as quickly as possible. ChatGPT burst through global consciousness and cemented itself as the chatbot to beat, quickly assimilated by Microsoft in its updated search engine, Bing . Not wanting to be left out, Google announced its AI champion, Bard, at an underwhelming launch event , followed by mixed messages and an obvious struggle to keep up. It’s hard to keep track of what is really going on with Google Bard , but it seems like its public debut may finally be imminent. Some members of Google’s Pixel Superfan program have apparently received an email offering them early access to Google Bard, spotted in a Reddit thread . In the invite below users can click on a link that’ll ask them to verify their email address and ‘hang tight’ until they follow up with further access instructions.
