Astronomers have spotted more than 2000 such planets, but they still need more information to better understand their nature and properties. This is because all Super-Earths orbit beyond the outer-reaches of our stellar neighborhood and we don’t have a close analogous to study directly. In order to analyze the structure and composition of these exoplanets, scientists need to study behaviour of elements at their core where pressures are ultrahigh — more … [Read more...] about High-Power Laser Experiments Could Shed More Light On Super-Earth Interiors

Early 2017's HTC U Ultra and U Play were a pair of devices designed to usher the Taiwanese giant into a new era of smartphones. For a number of reasons, however, consumers weren't really happy with this new direction, so up until now HTC was in need of a new hit. Enter the HTC U11 – a solid flagship with a number of unique features, it might just prove to be exactly what HTC needs right now.At a cursory glance, the U11 looks to be an amalgamation of its predecessor, the HTC 10, and its siblings in the U line, a theory proven right by its peculiar name, seemingly specifically chosen to underscore the device's origins. But look under the surface, and you'll find an entirely new type of user interaction, called Edge Sense, which lets you squeeze the device to perform context-sensitive actions. But more on that in a bit; first, let's take a look at the HTC U11's specs:PlatformAndroid 7.1 NougatDimensions, Weight 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9 mm, 169 gDisplay5.5 inch, Quad HD Super LCD 5 … [Read more...] about The HTC U11 is the company’s new flagship, and you can squeeze it!

Last month, Pebble introduced its latest smartwatch designs as it began the crowdfunding effort for the Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2. Neither strayed too far from what worked for their predecessors, while delivering upgrades like faster processors, a larger screen, stylish new looks, and heart-rate monitoring hardware. And while that was all well and good, we could understand how the news could be a bit of a letdown for fans of Pebble's circular-screened Pebble Time Round; where was their new model? While Pebble's still not ready to reinvent that hardware for a full-on Pebble Time Round 2, today we do get word of a couple new finish options that are on their way, as Pebble reveals new shiny metallic polished gold and polished silver colors. As you may be aware, the Pebble Time Round has already been available in both silver and rose gold colors.
