(unregistered) The UK was much the same during the WP7 release, only one working demo in an Orange store, and that was always on charge (out the back), you had to wait either for it to charge, only deemed by the store owner when it was good to come out on display (hence another 2x trip to the store) or wait for the next person to finish playing with it (happened on 3rd attempt). Though Apple seemed to have the iPhone 4 and 3GS (despite it being the old version) actively on demo and plugged into a power source. posted on 10 Jun … [Read more...] about Comments for : Mystery shopper exercise confirms sales people reluctant to push Windows Phone 7 gear

First off, Tmobile's HSPA is running at 21mb/s with upgrades comming up to 44 next year. WiMax is only running 12.. so partnering would make them slower. Unless Wimaxx does some serious upgrading past the 44mb/s that Tmobile is planning, there would be no point. Second, they may share the same data network for "4g" but the 3g radios and voice radios would be completely different. You would still have 2 different versions of the same phone across the carriers because they arent compatable. GSM and CDMA. With only a few exeptions most phones do not get to be on both CDMA and GSM carriers because of manufacturing costs, so that would severely limit the handsets. If they did try to fully merge into one network, you would have the sprint/nextell fiasco all over again. 2 barely … [Read more...] about Comments for : Will Sprint and T-Mobile join forces to complete 4G network?
T-Mobile is telling its customers who are in the path of Hurricane Irene, that it is moving resources into the area to quickly restore service in case of an outage. The carrier has set up a number of Command Centers along the coast where engineers will move to in case service has been interrupted. In the Carolinas, Greater Tri-State Area and New England region, T-Mobile has moved portable and back-up generators all filled with fuel and ready to go, repair and transport vehicles are ready to be deployed, and critical sites have battery back-up. In case land-lines servicing T-Mobile's cells go down, microwave radios will handle calls. Engineers on-call are being moved to areas that could be in the storm's path and Cells-On-Wheels will provide additional capacity in especially hard hit regions. T-Mobile is also adding capacity to evacuation routes. The carrier also has some tips for customers who might be affected by the Hurricane. The other day, we showed you a video from the Weather … [Read more...] about T-Mobile offers tips to those in the path of Hurricane Irene

Then I quickly come to my senses and remember what a scam it is. Just do a web search for anything like "phone insurance is a scam" and you will find many articles showing how much of a ripoff it is, with Assurant being the main culprit. Just consider the Galaxy Grand Prime. It's selling for … [Read more...] about Comments for : T-Mobile’s handset insurance rates will change on March 1st
