SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr 19, 2018--BuildingIQ (ASX: BIQ) today announces that it has launched a mobile app designed to provide a building’s facilities team with access to BuildingIQ’s 5i Platform while on-the-go. With the app, members of the facilities team can identify and submit issues within a facility or campus, document with mobile photos, and automatically create a maintenance ticket in the moment. Features can also be enabled to allow tenants to submit service requests for automatic ticket creation. The app may also be used to engage tenants on how they feel about the space by enabling a Comfort module. With Comfort enabled, it takes only a few seconds for a building occupant to let the facilities team know if a location is too warm, cold, or just right. This vital feedback is mapped to building system status and presented through heat maps depicting the human factor of cooling and heating operations. The BuildingIQ Mobile App is now available for … [Read more...] about BuildingIQ Launches Mobile App for Streamlined Maintenance and Comfort Management

Here at PhoneArena, we try to keep it positive. We love mobile technologies, so we're mostly optimistic about the industry and we try to pass that positivism to our readers. However, just like with anything else in this world, this coin has two sides. In the current piece, I will focus on the dark side of mobile apps. And, if you'd allow me to rephrase the famous Rule 34, if it exists, hackers are already onto it. Mobile apps are no exception. Plenty of users had their devices infected with malware, their credit cards stolen or whatnot, just by installing a dodgy app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. For future convenience, I'll just call them “junk apps”, “fraud apps” or “insert-bad-word-here apps”.What classifies as a junk app? Now, before I talk about protecting yourself from such apps, let's get our terminology straight. What exactly do I mean when I say “junk apps”?There are plenty of games and applications out there that are … [Read more...] about How to stay safe from dangerous mobile apps

It would mean having to send a tweet over the same network that even journalists use! No wonder Justin Bieber wakes up so upset every morning, with a chip on his shoulder. Why, it could be the same reason that Amanda Bynes went off the deep end. After all, it's bad enough that celebrities have to use the same oxygen as undertakers, teachers, PhoneArena writers and butchers. Now they have to share Facebook with the common people.Well Mr. or Mrs. Celebrity, Facebook heard you and is working on a mobile app that is just for you! Designed to make it easier for celebrities to deal with fans, and at the same time giving celebrities a reason to choose Facebook over, say, Twitter, testing is in progress for what is being called the VIP app. And some of those celebrities are in the midst of testing it right now.The billion dollar question is, … [Read more...] about Facebook working on mobile app for celebrities only
Pinterest, the social network that allows you to "discover new things and collect stuff you love", updated its mobile apps, the Android and the iOS ones. As a result, some features, which are already available on the desktop version of the site, were added. Both mobile versions of Pinterest now support GIF files. This feature was implemented into the desktop site back in January. Just like desktop users, Pinterest enthusiasts that use a mobile device can pause and play the GIFs within the pinboards.Pinterest's iPad app received a more special treatment. It got updated with Place Pins – a rather fresh geo-location feature, which allows users to pin the stuff they find interesting to an interactive map. As strange as it may seem, the Place Pins tool was not available on the iPad up until now - only Android and iPhone users could interact with the map pins.In addition, the overall interface of all Pinterest apps has been overhauled. Now, they have a much flatter, cleaner design, … [Read more...] about Pinterest renovates its mobile apps – the iPad gets Place Pins, all receive GIF support
