Microsoft’s security team says it’s tracking over 100 ransomware actors
Audio player loading… Microsoft has revealed it is tracking more than 100 threat actors deploying ransomware (opens in new tab) against businesses around the world. In a recent Twitter thread (opens in new tab) , the company discussed the current state of ransomware, saying the Ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) ecosystem continues evolving and expanding. The threat actors (of which the company tracks more than 100) are bringing “varying techniques, goals, and skillsets” to the fray. Right now, more than 50 unique ransomware families are active and in use, the company said. Focusing on the build-up While phishing remains the number one way for hackers to deliver ransomware payloads to victims, they’re “increasingly” relying on other techniques, as well, Microsoft added. ChatGPT sets a new record in technology industry, here’s what it is
Microsoft-backed artificial intelligence research startup OpenAI launched the AI chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022. Since its launch, the chatbot has gone viral for its ability to process prompts and deliver human-like writings including -- essays, articles, jokes, job applications and even poems. According to a report by Reuters, analysts have said that the popular AI chatbot has reached 100 million users within two months of its release. As per the report, an analysis conducted by data firm Similarweb claims that in January, ChatGPT had about 590 million visits from 100 million unique users. Test All Features of Windows Phone 7 On Your PC

Windows 11 Is Adding Even More Widgets
Windows 11 brought back widgets to the PC , but keeping them in a panel accessible from the taskbar instead of the desktop. Even more widgets are now on the way. Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25290 is now rolling out in the Dev Channel, for any PCs enrolled in the Windows Insider program. It introduces two more widgets, though they have to be downloaded through the widgets collection in the Microsoft Store first. There’s a Spotify widget, which shows recommended playlists and other controls, and a Phone Link widget that displays the status of a connected phone with recent notifications. Apple’s Pandemic Boom for iPhone and Mac Sales Hit a Snag
The tech industry was already large before the COVID-19 pandemic began upending lives around the world three years ago. But it continued to grow, as we all became ever more reliant on our smartphones, computers and videoconference calls. Now Apple is the latest tech giant to signal that this period of growth may be coming to an end. The company reported that sales of its most important product, the iPhone, fell more than 8%, to nearly $65.8 billion. The reason, Apple said, included several factors, such as the fluctuating price of the US dollar across the world and especially strong sales of its products in the prior year.
