McCaul: Chances of China-Taiwan Conflict ‘Very High’ if Biden Continues to Project ‘Weakness’

January 29, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that the possibility of war between China and Taiwan is “very high.” Anchor Shannon Bream said, “I want to start with this reports of a top general who is making a comment about a potential war with China in 2025, get your reaction to this. NBC News is citing a memo to his officers with this quote, ‘I hope I am wrong,’ he says to them. ‘My gut tells me will fight in 2025.’ That’s being met with a lot of different reactions, some skepticism this is attributed to the opinion of one man. What do you make of that?” McCaul said, “I hope he’s wrong as well. I think he’s right, though, unfortunately.” Bream said, “Wait, an actual war?” McCaul said, “I think China is looking at you reunification of Taiwan, that’s how they called it. There are several ways to do that. The one is to influence the election will take place a year from today.” He added, “If they succeed in … [Read more...] about McCaul: Chances of China-Taiwan Conflict ‘Very High’ if Biden Continues to Project ‘Weakness’

tiktok: Democratic senator urges Apple, Google to kick TikTok out of app stores

February 2, 2023 by www.gadgetsnow.com Leave a Comment

TikTok , owned by China's ByteDance, should be removed from app stores run by Apple Inc and Alphabet's Google because the short video social media app poses a risk to national security, Senator Michael Bennet , a Democrat on the intelligence committee, said in a letter dated. The app, which Congress has already banned from federal government devices, has come under increasing criticism because of concern that China's government could use it to harvest data on Americans or advance Chinese interests. "No company subject to CCP (Chinese Communist Party) dictates should have the power to accumulate such extensive data on the American people or curate content to nearly a third of our population," Bennet wrote in the letter to Alphabet Chief Executive Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook . House, Senate Republicans Seek to Overturn D.C. Law Allowing Illegals to Vote

January 14, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

House and Senate Republicans are seeking to overturn a new law, approved by Democrats on the Washington, DC, City Council, that extends municipal voting rights to illegal aliens. In October 2022, the D.C. City Council voted 12-1 to advance a bill that will allow foreign nationals, regardless of if they have visas or are illegally in the United States, to vote in local elections such as school board races and mayoral elections. About 50,000 foreign nationals and illegal aliens could be eligible to vote in local elections across D.C. if the measure is not thrown out by Congress before taking effect. This week, House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) introduced a joint resolution to effectively overturn the new D.C. voting law. “Voting is a pillar of American democracy and a constitutional right that undeniably needs to be protected and preserved for citizens of this country,” Comer said in a statement: The D.C. Council’s reckless … [Read more...] about House, Senate Republicans Seek to Overturn D.C. Law Allowing Illegals to Vote

An actor who stars in the Oscar-hopeful movie Corsage has been charged with possession of child pornography and is expected to plead guilty after authorities reportedly found an estimated 58,000 digital images featuring pornographic depictions of minors, some as young as 14 years old. Austrian actor Florian Teichtmeister faces up to two years in prison for possessing child porn, according to multiple reports. The 42-year-old actor’s trial is set to begin February 8. His lawyer, Michael Rami, reportedly said in a statement to Germany’s dpa news agency: “He confessed throughout the investigation and always cooperated with the authorities.” The lawyer said his client didn’t commit any criminal acts directly against the people depicted in the images, saying the offense is a “purely digital crime.” Teichtmeister plays Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph in Corsage , opposite Phantom Thread actress Vicky Krieps, who plays Empress Elisabeth, commonly known as “Sissi.” The period … [Read more...] about Florian Teichtmeister, Actor in Oscar-Hopeful Movie ‘Corsage,’ Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

WEF War Party: Finnish PM Backs Supporting Ukraine for ’15 Years’

January 18, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

In a discussion at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin has said that Europe will support Ukraine “as long as needed” even if the war with Russia lasts upwards of 15 years. Speaking with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Finnish PM Santa Marin, 34, said that she believes Europe should commit to backing Ukraine in an open-ended conflict with Russia, rather than seeking to come to a peace agreement and ending the bloody war. “I think the only message that we need to send is that we will support Ukraine as long as needed. One year, two years, five years, 10 years, 15 years,” she said. Marin, who became the youngest prime minister in the history of her country in 2019, went on to say “We don’t know when the war will end, but we have to make sure that the Ukrainians will win. I don’t think there’s any other choice. If Russia would win the war, then we would only see decades of this kind of behaviour ahead of us.” “I think other countries are … [Read more...] about WEF War Party: Finnish PM Backs Supporting Ukraine for ’15 Years’
