Two off-duty police officers have been stabbed in Soho, London, with one man arrested for inflicting grievous bodily harm and drug possession. Details of the attack remained scanty as of the time of publication, but it is known to have taken place on Greek Street, Soho — an area which has been described as “the home of London’s main gay and LGBTQ scene”. Law enforcement was called out to the incident by the London Ambulance Service around 3:30 a.m. on Friday morning. One stabbing had been reported, with a second victim discovered shortly after the police arrived. “Officers attended the scene. A second man was subsequently located — he was also suffering stab injuries,” said a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police in comments quoted by The Telegraph . “Both males were taken to hospital for treatment — the condition of both males is now stable,” the spokesman explained. “A man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm GBH and possession of Class … [Read more...] about Khan’s London: Off-Duty Police Officers Stabbed in Soho

March 19, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

A former Acting Commissioner in charge of London’s Metropolitan Police has been referred to the law enforcement watchdog for allegedly saying most rape complaints concern mere “regretful sex”. Sir Stephen House, the first Chief Constable of Police Scotland and the Acting Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis after the resignation of Dame Cressida Dick, is accused or having “used terms to describe — or a term to describe — what he thought the bulk of the rape complaints were, which was the term ‘regretful sex'” by Professor Betsy Stanko, a Home Officer-appointed advisor dealing with an investigation into the Met’s handling of rape cases, dubbed Operation Soteria. “It felt as if he was trying to minimise what the problem was, not taking it seriously,” Stanko said of Sir Stephen — who denies her allegations. “He used terms to describe – or a term to describe – what he thought the bulk of the rape complaints were, which was the term ‘regretful sex’.” Operation Soteria found … [Read more...] about Police Chief Denies Saying Most Rape Complaints About ‘Regretful Sex’

The applications are under scrutiny and will be subsequently put up to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority (MMRTA) for a final decision about granting the licence (Illustration: Rahul Awasthi) Rideshare and delivery companies want the Biden administration's nominee for the Department of Labor to clarify her position on an incoming worker-classification rule that could expand workers' rights, a trade group representing the companies said on Monday. The Department of Labor in October proposed a rule that would make it more difficult for companies to treat workers as independent contractors, which would shake up ride-hailing, delivery and other industries that rely on gig workers. The Flex Association, which represents companies such as Uber and Lyft , sent a letter to Biden on Monday asking that his nominee to lead the U.S. Department of Labor, Julie Su, explain how she would implement the proposed rule in a "manner that … [Read more...] about labor: Uber, Lyft trade group questions Biden’s labour nominee’s gig workers stance
