Brave, a browser that blocks conventional online ads and strips privacy-invading trackers off the web, has begun testing its own technology for supplying advertisements. The startup, co-founded by former Firefox leader Brendan Eich, announced a special test version of Brave that will show about 250 prepackaged ads to those who sign up for an early-access version of the software. It'll expand that test later in June, Brave said in a blog post Tuesday. Then, in the coming months, a more significant part of the company's plan begins: a system that pays you with Brave's crypto-tokens if you view or interact with ads. The key difference from conventional ads is that the browser itself chooses them from a catalog, basing its choices on its observation of your online interests but not sharing that information outside the browser. In contrast, today's ad companies track you online from one site to another, building a profile of your behavior and interests that's beyond your control. It's been … [Read more...] about The Brave browser is testing its own ad technology — and will pay you to see them

Imo, chrome is just an overhyped browser, I rarely use it posted on 22 Nov 2015, 14:18 9 2. Wiencon (Posts: 2187; Member since: 06 Aug 2014) I tried Edge on W10 but it was disaster IMO, I'll stick with Chrome, it may be cluttered but I have enough RAM to keep it running smoothly and no browser can beat it when it comes to add ons. On Android Chrome is the only choice IMO, but it's just because I find it very comfortable, I know people like other browsers too but idk. On iOS Mercury rules, fastest of all. I wonder how will Edge on WP10 behave, IE was everything but pleasant experience on WP8 posted on 22 Nov 2015, 14:34 5 5. elitewolverine (Posts: 5192; Member since: 28 Oct 2013) Dolphin for me on Android. Using Safari makes sense only if you're on jailbreak, then it turns into most capable browser but standard version is meh. posted on 22 Apr 2015, 11:07 7 2. Apple's stock Safari browser is fit for most purposes you throw at it, and has that Reader mode that strips articles of annoying pics, ads and other distractions to leave you with a unadulterated text-only version. It does, however, have a few quirks, and, naturally, doesn't support the now-discontinued Adobe Flash standard, so you might want to reach for alternatives every now and then.It could come as a surprise to the casual iPhone and iPad user, but there are plenty of third-party browsing alternatives to Safari in the App Store. Thus, if you want to sync your Google bookmarks, you can do so with Chrome on iOS, if you want a blazing fast browsing experience you can use Puffin, while Dolphin will bring you an amazing suite of extra features, not to mention that you can circumvent the Flash-forbidding Apple policies with more browsers than one.
