The heavy rains that last from June until August frequently choke off the flow of traffic through India’s most populous city, leaving millions of Mumbaikars seething in their cars after a workday. India’s crowded video streaming space will soon have a new entrant: Flipkart. The Walmart-owned ecommerce company said today that it is working to launch an OTT service in the country. Flipkart said it would partner with existing industry players to load up on content for the yet-to-be-named video streaming service. In a televised interview with Indian daily ET Now, Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy explained, “We are not a content company as a DNA.” When asked about a timeline for the launch, and whether it would happen in the next year or two, Krishnamurthy said it would “hopefully [happen] before” that. The planned launch of the video streaming service suggests a shift in strategy for the company, which in recent months has steered clear of experimentation with digital offerings. In its early years, Flipkart launched a music streaming service, an ebook store, and an in-app chat service, among other digital offerings. But most of those … [Read more...] about Walmart-owned Flipkart to launch a video streaming service in India

October 17, 2018 - Written By Alexander Maxham In short: B&H Photo is currently doing pre-orders for the Xiaomi Poco F1. The phone is not being sold in the US officially, and that means that this is technically being done via a third-party. That also means no warranty and no 4G LTE support here in the US. So keep both of those in mind before you decide to buy the Poco F1. B&H Photo is only offering the 6/64GB and the 6/128GB models here, so the high-end 8/256GB and the kevlar-backed version are not available here. The prices for these are $369 and $399 respectively, which are still really great prices for the Poco F1, which became so popular because of its low price tag.The Poco F1 sports a 6.18-inch 2246×1080 resolution IPS display. That means that it is full HD+ resolution, which will help the 4000mAh capacity battery last even longer on a single charge. Inside, you’ll find the Snapdragon 845 chipset, with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of … [Read more...] about Xiaomi’s Poco F1 Lands In The US Via B&H Photo
