Now Comcast’s Xfinity Stream app with live TV and DVR content is available on Apple TV
Comcast’s Xfinity Stream app replaced the old Xfinity TV setup in 2017 , allowing cable TV subscribers (who haven’t cut the cord yet) to pull up live channels, DVR content, and on-demand video, and now it’s available in the App Store on Apple TV boxes. Comcast and Apple announced a deal last October to make this happen , as well as an Apple TV Plus app for Comcast’s X1 platform, which launched in March for compatible cable boxes, Xfinity Flex, and XClass Smart TVs. Other platforms with the Xfinity Stream app include Roku, Amazon Fire, LG smart TVs, and Samsung smart TVs. Comcast senior VP of strategic development Michael DelCiello said in a statement that “With today’s launch of the Stream app on Apple TV, our customers now have a new device option for accessing their Xfinity TV subscription in the home, and they will be the first to enjoy a new, streamlined UI designed to make it easier to find something to watch – whether that means getting back to a favorite show or movie, … [Read more...] about Now Comcast’s Xfinity Stream app with live TV and DVR content is available on Apple TV
Netflix may have just confirmed ad-supported tier is coming soon
What just happened? Having once said it had no plans to ever go down the ad-supported-tier route, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has now confirmed it will be offering such a plan as part of its service. According to reports, the streaming giant aims to roll out the new, cheaper options before the year is out. "We've left a big customer segment off the table, which is people who say: 'Hey, Netflix is too expensive for me and I don't mind advertising,'" Sarandos said at the Cannes Lions advertising festival, via The Hollywood Reporter . "We [are] adding an ad tier; we're not adding ads to Netflix as you know it today. We're adding an ad tier for folks who say, 'Hey, I want a lower price and I'll watch ads.'" After rival streamer Disney+ announced in March that it would be introducing a cheaper, ad-supported tier to its US service later this year, Netflix Chief Financial Officer Spencer Neumann said his company wouldn't be doing the same as it didn't " make sense ." He did add, … [Read more...] about Netflix may have just confirmed ad-supported tier is coming soon

God of War Ragnarok everything we know so far
Audio player loading… God of War: Ragnarok is the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s God of War and it’s coming to PS4 and PS5 in 2022. We just don't know when exactly it'll release. In what marks the final chapter of the series' Norse storyline, God of War: Ragnarok will take place a few years after the events of 2018's God of War. It's here we see Kratos and a now teenage Atreus fighting for survival as Ragnarok (the end of the world) unfolds. In fact, a recent report has suggested that a November … [Read more...] about God of War Ragnarok everything we know so far
Summer Game Fest 2022: all the biggest announcements and reveals
Audio player loading… Summer Game Fest 2022, the third year of Geoff Keighley's season of gaming, is officially over. And, to be honest, it was a bit of a mixed bag. Unlike E3 (which was canceled this year), Summer Game Fest isn't a conference or event. Instead, it's an overarching season of digital events that encompasses many different publisher and developer live streams. This year was no different, with Xbox, Capcom, PlayStation and more hosting their own showcases during what's come to be known as "not-E3". We also saw the return of the Summer Game Fest live cross-industry showcase hosted by Keighley, which kicked off this year's proceedings. While Summer Game Fest 2022 certainly boasted some big announcements and reveals, like a deep dive into Starfield and the reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 's campaign, the season of gaming certainly felt a bit more lackluster than it has in previous years, primarily due to the lack of earth-shattering announcements. … [Read more...] about Summer Game Fest 2022: all the biggest announcements and reveals
