I drove the new 2017 Ford Mustang and couldn’t even start the engine

July 11, 2017 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Audio player loading… I’ve made a massive mistake. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m lost in the middle of the countryside with a dead car that costs far more than my annual salary and I have no way of getting in contact with anyone. OK - let’s rewind a bit.  I’ve never driven a car as a journalist (well, I have... but the two were unrelated. I can drive and I am a journalist... that’s not important though). But I came to the middle of an English forest to drive the new Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 GT, a 5-litre beast of a car that had me not sleeping the night before, such was my excitement. Usually the most-excellent John McCann writes these TechRadar Drives columns , looking at the hulking great behemoths of cars from a technology angle, the lucky beggar getting to try out hugely expensive new cars and pass judgement on them. But I’ve barely driven a car that’s worth a fifth of this Mustang I’m sat in (the convertible V8 I had starts at £41,595), and … [Read more...] about I drove the new 2017 Ford Mustang and couldn’t even start the engine

Joe Biden Traveling to Ohio to Promote Economy While Preparing to Lift Tariffs on China

July 6, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

President Joe Biden is traveling to Ohio on Wednesday, even as his administration is preparing to lift some of the economic tariffs on China. The president is expected to journey to Cleveland to talk about the growth of the economy and speak at the Iron Workers Local 17 Training Center. Recent reports say the president may act as soon as this week to lift billions of dollars of tariffs on China-made goods shipped to the United States. Corporations have campaigned extensively to get Biden to lift tariffs, citing record-high inflation as a reason for doing so. But economists estimate lifting tariffs will have a very little immediate impact on consumer prices. Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH), who is running for Senate in Ohio, lambasted the president in June for even considering the idea. “Letting up on a communist government that’s made it their decades-long mission to undercut American manufacturing isn’t how we bring costs down,” he wrote on social media. “It’s these … [Read more...] about Joe Biden Traveling to Ohio to Promote Economy While Preparing to Lift Tariffs on China

Does Hibernating My PC Save More Energy Than Sleep?

July 6, 2022 by www.howtogeek.com Leave a Comment

Windows has two main options for shutting down your PC without really shutting it down—“Sleep” and “Hibernate.” There are some key differences between these two modes, but which one actually uses the least electricity? Let’s find out. What’s the Difference Between Sleep and Hibernate? Before we dive into energy consumption, let’s talk about why these two modes exist separately. Neither mode fully shuts down your PC, but they do very different things . Sleep is essentially a “low-power mode.” The PC’s state is kept in memory, but the other parts of the PC are shut down. This is what allows it to very quickly resume where you left off when your turn the PC back on. Sleep mode is sort of like a light nap. Hibernate saves the current state to the hard drive instead of the memory. When you power the PC back on, it loads that state back to the memory. Since the state is saved to the hard drive, the PC can essentially shut down completely while still resuming where you left … [Read more...] about Does Hibernating My PC Save More Energy Than Sleep?

Tom Hanks Confused by Disney Replacing Tim Allen in ‘Lightyear: ‘I Don’t Understand That’

July 6, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

It appears that even Tom Hanks is dumbfounded by Disney’s decision to recast actor Tim Allen with Chris Evans in Pixar’s latest Lightyear movie. Speaking with CinemaBlend, Hanks, who voiced the character Woody in the Toy Story franchise opposite Tim Allen, was asked if he felt “strange” to have his latest movie Elvis be to be in “theaters opposite a Buzz Lightyear film.” “How about that? Actually, I wanted to go head-to-head with Tim Allen, and then they didn’t let Tim Allen do it,” he told CinemaBlend. “I don’t understand that.” Hanks had little else to say when asked about the studio’s decision to replace Allen. “Here’s the thing — just as long as people come back to the motion picture theater,” he said. “I want to go back in the theater with a bunch of strangers and leave with something in common. That’s what I want to do and, going to see a movie with him [Allen] — I’m looking forward to that.” (L-R) Tom Hanks and Tim Allen attend the world premiere of … [Read more...] about Tom Hanks Confused by Disney Replacing Tim Allen in ‘Lightyear: ‘I Don’t Understand That’
