The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are Samsung's latest wearables that want to be your go-to Android watch. Set for release on Aug. 26, along with the Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4 , they have bigger batteries, a new temperature sensor and a more durable design. But they lose the fan-favorite rotating bezel that the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic model still offers as an alternative to using a touch-sensitive rim. This year's watch comes in two variants : The Galaxy Watch 5 and a slightly larger, more rugged Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Apart from the construction, sports modes and battery capacity, they share most of the same features. So far, I haven't found that many significant differences warrant an upgrade from last year's Galaxy Watch 4 series given the software is largely unchanged and the new temperature sensor is not yet active. But the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is the more tempting proposition if you want a more durable watch with a bigger battery. With the Pixel Watch on the horizon and … [Read more...] about Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro Ongoing Review: Better Batteries, Bye Bezel

Apple is allegedly threatening to fire an employee over a viral TikTok video
Apple is allegedly threatening to fire an employee who posted a TikTok video with basic iPhone security tips. The employee, Paris Campbell, says she was told that she breached company policy by identifying herself as an Apple employee and posting about Apple-related topics. The company’s social media policy warns employees against posting about customers, colleagues, or confidential information — but Apple doesn’t specifically bar employees from posting about the technology entirely. “We want you to be yourself, but you should also be respectful in posts, tweets, and other online communications,” an internal document reads. @stopitparis #stitch with @Stella this is so out of my content niche ♬ Love You So - The King Khan & BBQ Show Campbell, a single mother living in New York, has worked at Apple for nearly six years, most recently as a repair technician in Apple retail. Mobile app helps people manage their blood pressure
People with high blood pressure who used a smartphone app and at-home monitor were able to drive down their blood pressure, a new study showed. The program, called Hello Heart, lets people track their blood pressure, weight, and physical activity and offers tips on how to manage blood pressure. Around half of adults in the United States have high blood pressure, but only around a quarter of those people have the condition under control. It can be a tricky condition to manage, particularly if people are only getting measurements taken in the doctor’s office — where it can be higher (from the stress of a doctor’s visit) or lower (through a condition called masked hypertension) than it is at home. But it can be dangerous and puts people at risk for heart disease and stroke. Digital health approaches to managing blood pressure, which give people resources to track the condition at home, are appealing to doctors and researchers because they could be widely distributed. The Hello Heart … [Read more...] about Mobile app helps people manage their blood pressure
hands-on: Brave new direction or just pandering to fans?
COLOGNE, Germany—It finally happened, a decade's worth of expectation fulfilled with a simple push of a button. Though I still can't quite believe it (and a recent delay hasn't helped) Final Fantasy XV , a game that's taken on near mythical status alongside the likes of The Last Guardian , Beyond Good and Evil 2 , and Half Life 3 , is finally being released on November 29—and I've already played it. Selecting "New Game" has never been quite as satisfying before. Unfortunately for Square Enix, FF15 is unlikely to live up to expectations. Its development has simply been too long and its predecessors too divisive to escape the crushing inevitability of a game with this much hype and history behind it. Some will welcome Square Enix's take on the modern open-world RPG. Others will lust after the linear worlds of the PlayStation-era games. There will be those for whom nothing is more satisfying than a three-hour grind through a maze-like dungeon, while others will hope … [Read more...] about hands-on: Brave new direction or just pandering to fans?

The updated tech aims to identify potential rule-breaking guests by examining review history, length of stay, distance to to a host's property and other indicators. In a blog post , Airbnb outlined its goal to "reduce the ability of bad actors to throw unauthorized parties which negatively impact our Hosts, neighbors, and the communities we serve." According to the company, the new system will prevent high-risk reservations for entire homes from being processed. Those guests may still be able to book private rooms in a shared space or other property where a host may be present. Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky announced a ban on house parties back in 2019 after several people were shot and killed at a a … [Read more...] about Airbnb Launches New Tools to Curb Partying

EXCLUSIVE: Biden CBP Warns of Extremist Violence from Open Border ‘False Perception’
According to a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a recent email addressed to all CBP personnel from Commissioner Chris Magnus warns of potential violence directed at law enforcement due to the “false perception that the U.S. Government in not working to maintain security along the US-Mexico border.” Breitbart Texas reviewed the email circulated to all Border Patrol Agents and CBP staff. Magnus further states the “false perception” that the federal government is not working to maintain security along the border is fueling the potential for domestic extremist violence. In addition to the recent FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, Magnus draws on a June DHS National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin: Some domestic violent extremists have expressed grievances related to their perception that the U.S. government is unwilling or unable to secure the U.S.-Mexico border and have called for violence to stem the flow of … [Read more...] about EXCLUSIVE: Biden CBP Warns of Extremist Violence from Open Border ‘False Perception’
Sennheiser announces Momentum 4 headphones with new design and 60-hour battery life
Sennheiser just announced the latest addition to its Momentum lineup of premium, noise-canceling headphones. Priced at $349.95, the new Momentum 4 Wireless headphones look much different than past models, with the company trading its signature retro aesthetic for a more lightweight, comfortable design . Sennheiser says the Momentum 4s offer “exceptional comfort” and superior active noise cancellation compared to the Momentum 3 Wireless. They’ll be up for preorder on August 9th and will be in stores as of August 23rd. Aside from the revamped style, the other big selling point seems to be battery life. Sennheiser claims the Momentum 4s can achieve up to 60 hours of playback time on a single charge, far beyond the 20 to 30 hours promised by competitors like Sony’s WH-1000XM5, Bose’s QuietComfort 45, and Apple’s AirPods Max. The already terrific sound quality of the third-generation cans seems mostly unchanged: both use 42-millimeter drivers that are tuned for “brilliant … [Read more...] about Sennheiser announces Momentum 4 headphones with new design and 60-hour battery life
