Adult Swim of Cartoon Network fame announced it has ended its relationship with Rick Roiland, the co-creator of the popular Rick and Morty adult cartoon series. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hulu on Wednesday became the second television company to cut ties with “Rick and Morty” creator Justin Roiland after felony domestic abuse charges against him were revealed. “We have ended our association with Justin Roiland,” 20th TV Animation and Hulu Originals said in a statement. Roiland co-created and provides voices for the streaming outlet’s animated show “Solar Opposites,” and is also a producer and actor on its animated “Koala Man.” Both shows will continue without him. On Tuesday, Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim division, home to the animated sci-fi sitcom “Rick and Morty,” made the same move, saying in a brief statement that they have ended their association with Roiland. Tech giant Microsoft has announced that it has partnered with global solar leader Qcells to curb carbon emissions and power the clean energy economy. The "strategic alliance" aims to enable a strong supply chain for new renewable electricity capacity projected to require at least 2.5 gigawatts of solar panels and related services, which is equivalent to powering over 400,000 homes, Microsoft said in a blogpost. Giga Fun Studios: Casual gaming startup Giga Fun Studios raises $2.4 million funding
Bengaluru-based casual gaming startup Giga Fun Studios has raised $2.4 million in a seed round led by gaming focussed venture capital fund Lumikai and Fireside Ventures . Other participants in the round include All In Capital, Kettleborough VC and Riverwalk Holdings . The startup, which plans to launch its first game in the second half of 2023, is aiming to build a portfolio of games that are culturally contextualised for Indian audiences. Giga Fun Studios was founded by Krishnendu Mukherjee, a former AVP and head of game design at unicorn startup MPL, Rahul Daga, former director of products at Zynga and country head at m56 Studios, and Rahul Shekhar, former engineering lead at m56 Studios.
