Nancy Pelosi Trashes June Jobs Report, Warns of ‘Brewing Storm’ of Wealth and Opportunity

July 6, 2018 breitbart Leave a Comment

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) trashed the June jobs report — even though it showed rapid job growth, rising wages, and low unemployment. The report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that employers created 213,000 new jobs in June — 22,000 more than economists had expected. Manufacturing jobs in particular rose by 36,000.The unemployment rate rose slightly, from 3.8% to 4.0% — but that was partly because so many people are entering (or re-entering) the labor force. The June jobs report is due out Friday morning, and by all accounts it is expected to be a pretty good report. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg are expecting the US economy to have added 195,000 nonfarm jobs as the unemployment rate held at 3.8%. Additionally, average hourly earnings are expected to have increased 0.3% month-over-month. However, there are some numbers that can “spook” the market, according to a note sent out to clients Friday morning by Michael Hartnett’s team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Take a look: Stagflationary payrolls of less than 140,000 Average hourly earnings of more than 0.4% Stay tuned for the report, which is set to cross the wires at 8:30 a.m. ET. … [Read more...] about BANK OF AMERICA: Here’s the jobs report numbers that would ‘spook’ the market

The Bureau of Labor Statistics routinely releases its monthly employment report on the first Friday of the month. The night before, under longstanding tradition, the president and several senior administration officials — including the Treasury secretary and the chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers — are briefed on the numbers, which they are not supposed to disclose until the report is made public at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time the next morning. But Mr. Trump appeared to foreshadow the strength of the latest report on Friday morning on Twitter: … [Read more...] about Trump Breaks Protocol With Tweet About Jobs Report Before It Is Released
