By John Shea Published 4:23 pm, Sunday, April 15, 2018 SAN DIEGO - The Giants have a long history of bullying the Padres, but that’s an outdated story, much to the chagrin of former Padres manager Bruce Bochy. After a medicore start to the young season, the Giants came to San Diego with designs on doing some damage but dropped three of four games including Sunday’s matinee 10-1. The Giants haven’t won any of their past six series here, going 0-5-1 since they last took a Petco Park series in May 2016. And to think, the Giants have a rich history of out-performing their southern foe and celebrating division championships on the Padres’ watch. Six division titles were clinched with wins over the Padres — 1971, 1987, 1997, 2003, 2010 and 2012 — and a seventh division, in 1989, was clinched with a Padres loss elsewhere. Giants manager Bruce Bochy has stuck with his game plan, and it was good enough to split the first 12 games entering Friday night, but a .500 record might not last as long as the Giants hit poorly with runners in scoring position. The lineup sputtered again in a 5-1 loss to the Padres, and pitcher Ty Blach did the offense no favors when failing to keep the score close. He was chased in the sixth inning after giving up four runs on seven hits. The night lacked any kind of rhythm for the Giants. The first two hitters, Joe Panik and Brandon Belt, reached base five times in their first six plate appearances, and neither crossed the plate - or even got as far as third base.
