At Davos, John Kerry Predicts ‘Worst Consequences’ of Climate Change

January 17, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

President Joe Biden’s Special Envoy for Climate, John Kerry appeared at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Tuesday to share predictions of doom should the world fail to cut carbon pollution. “I am not convinced we’re going to get there in time to do what the scientists said, which is avoid the worst consequences of the crisis,” he said , promoting a “no-carbon” future to prevent global temperatures from rising. Kerry gloomily noted to the Davos elites that despite recent global entities pledging to be carbon neutral by 2050, there was not enough progress. “You and I, we know, they don’t have a clue how they’re going to get there,” he said. “And most of them aren’t on track to get there.” Attendees help themselves to canapes of Swiss cheese at the Welcome Reception ahead of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023. John Wick director is making a Rainbow Six movie – and I couldn’t be more excited

January 18, 2023 by www.techradar.com Leave a Comment

Audio player loading… John Wick's Chad Stahelski is teaming up with Michael B. Jordan to make a Rainbow Six movie. Per Deadline (opens in new tab) , the stuntman-turned-director has signed on to helm a live-action adaptation of one of Tom Clancy's most iconic literary works. The action-thriller will see Jordan reprise his role as John Clark from Without Remorse, which launched exclusively on Prime Video in March 2021. Rainbow Six has reportedly been in development (per Variety (opens in new tab) ) since Without Remorse was released. The film's ending teased the arrival of Rainbow, an international counterterrorism organization headed by Clark in Clancy's seminal novels. However, it had been unclear if Paramount Pictures would officially greenlight the follow-up, given the two-year gap between Without Remorse and this latest annoucement. Now, Without Remorse is a decent film. In our Without Remorse review , we said its "solid action set-pieces and … [Read more...] about John Wick director is making a Rainbow Six movie – and I couldn’t be more excited

John McCain and the FCC media ownership fight

March 9, 2008 by arstechnica.com Leave a Comment

The furor over Federal Communications Commission Chair Kevin Martin's move to relax the agency's newspaper/TV cross ownership ban got a little more political this week as Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) introduced a resolution on Wednesday disapproving of the December 2007 decision. The Senate statement declares that the new rule "shall have no force or effect." Democratic presidential rivals Barack Obama (D-IL) and Hillary Clinton (D-NY) have both co-sponsored the declaration along with seven other Democrats and four Republicans. None of those Republicans include the GOP's choice for the White House, Senator John McCain of Arizona. How will McCain vote on this issue? If past performance is an indicator, he'll oppose Dorgan and support the FCC's ruling. Is the fight against media consolidation bipartisan? In 2003, former FCC Chair Michael Powell ushered through a suite of far more draconian changes to the Commission's media ownership guidelines, including scotching the agency's … [Read more...] about John McCain and the FCC media ownership fight

Nolte: Unlike Trump’s, Biden’s Classified Document Scandal Is Real

January 16, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Former President Donald Trump is embroiled in another Deep State frame-up job, this time over classified documents. Meanwhile, His Fraudulency Joe Biden is dealing with a legitimate classified document scandal. Before we go any further, I find all this “classified document” handwringing silly. Speaking objectively outside the tit-for-tat of partisan politics, everyone knows America goes overboard with that big, red CLASSIFIED stamp. Hey, and who can blame us? Stamping something CLASSIFIED has to feel pretty cool. Reading something stamped CLASSIFIED must feel even cooler. So why not stamp, stamp, stamp your way to that warm and fuzzy feeling of self-importance? Plus, by stamping everything CLASSIFIED, the Deep State can frame people for invented crimes, embarrass them politically, and meddle in elections. And we all know how much the FBI, NSA, CIA, and Homeland Security love to frame people to protect the Democrat party. Here’s my view of what’s happening to Trump: From what we … [Read more...] about Nolte: Unlike Trump’s, Biden’s Classified Document Scandal Is Real

Nolte: Looks Like Amazon’s Blacklisting Jeremy Clarkson over Meghan Criticism

January 17, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

“Amazon Prime Video is likely to be parting ways with Jeremy Clarkson mere weeks after his comments about Meghan Markle were published in British tabloid The Sun,” the far-left Variety reports . What was the former Top Gear host’s sin? He used a Game of Thrones metaphor to articulate how much he dislikes the hideous Meghan Markle. Back in December, in a column for the Sun , Clarkson wrote: At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her. Cue the artificial outrage over an obvious and harmless metaphor, and less than a month later, Amazon is canceling Clarkson’s shows and press conferences: Sources tell Variety that the streaming service won’t be working with Clarkson beyond seasons of “The Grand Tour” and “Clarkson’s Farm” that have already been commissioned. This means … [Read more...] about Nolte: Looks Like Amazon’s Blacklisting Jeremy Clarkson over Meghan Criticism

Republican Sen. Thom Tillis on Amnesty: CEOs Need ‘Affordable’ Migrant Labor

January 17, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Politicians try to hide the pocketbook politics of migration — but Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) accidentally let the cat out of the bag during a staged PR event when she asked a plain-spoken mayor what he wants from a 2023 migration bill. “We need cheap labor,” responded Gerardo Anaya, the mayor of Somerton, an Arizona agricultural town between Yuma and the Mexican border. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) then rescued Sinema’s PR event by rebuking the mayor’s frank admission: I wouldn’t call it cheap labor. I would call it affordable labor because one thing that you all know, the lettuce can grow on either side of the border. And if we don’t come up with solutions for a sustainable workforce, we’re going to be importing [lettuce]. Sinema is pushing for a more-migration and amnesty bill as part of her 2024 election campaign. Her push is winning support from Arizona businesses, plus a lot of favorable publicity from the establishment media. Sinema is backed by a group of seven … [Read more...] about Republican Sen. Nolte: Airline Travelers ‘Need to Prepare for the Worst’

January 23, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

After a terrible, dreadful 2022 for airline travel, passengers should expect things to get even worse this year. So says the CEO of United Airlines: The year 2022 was one of the most stress-inducing for consumer air travelers in recent memory. A surge in travel demand after airlines slashed resources during the pandemic caught carriers flat footed. Unable to adequately staff flights, they nevertheless continued to sell record-breaking numbers of tickets, resulting in more than one in five flights being delayed, according to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics — the highest rate of delays since 2014. … Airlines will soon be hobbled by a lack of adequate staffing, something United’s Kirby alluded to. On a more distant horizon are modernization and market reform efforts that analysts fear might be stymied by political obstacles. Labor shortages? Maybe firing people who refused to get vaccinated was not such a good idea, especially when the unvaccinated pose no … [Read more...] about Nolte: Airline Travelers ‘Need to Prepare for the Worst’

Nolte: Aretha Franklin Hit ‘Natural Woman’ Decried by Fake Transgender Activists

January 23, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Correction: Following the publication of this piece, the Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance group claimed their original post criticizing Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman” as anti-transgender was “satirical.” The Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance’s Twitter bio has been updated to say “PARODY/SATIRE.” Our story has been updated accordingly. The story continues below. Members of the transsexual movement want Aretha Franklin’s 1968 hit “Natural Woman” banned. Standing for Women Founder Kellie-Jay Keen told Australia’s Sky News it’s “really hard” to ignore the “misogyny” of the trans-rights movement when Aretha’s classic song is attacked as offensive to trans-women. This might surprise some of you but I actually see where the trans-women (fake or not) are coming from here. If I were a man pretending to be a woman, I would also find the term “natural woman” offensive. Imagine you’re one of these mentally-damaged crossdressers, okay? You’re standing there with a … [Read more...] about Nolte: Aretha Franklin Hit ‘Natural Woman’ Decried by Fake Transgender Activists

Nolte: Democrat-run Chicago Year-to-Date Crime Rate Up 97% Compared to 2021

January 26, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Compared to the first 22 days of 2021, the major crime rate in Democrat-run Chicago is already up 97 percent this year, reports Wirepoints. Compared to those same 22 days last year, crime is up 61 percent. Another great American city utterly destroyed by unchallenged Democrat rule under Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Chicago is what happens to a society when Democrats get everything they want– when the left gets their Utopia. More from Wirepoints : Major reported crimes in Chicago in 2022 were 41% higher than in 2021 and 33 percent more than 2019. Versus the pre-George Floyd baseline of 2019 murder, robbery, theft, motor vehicle theft and shooting incidents for Chicago in 2022 were all up notably. But it’s worse than that. New major-crimes data for Chicago is out, covering the first three weeks of 2023. And what a three weeks it’s been. The numbers show that overall reported major crimes through January 22 in the new year are 61% higher than the same span in 2022, and 97% … [Read more...] about Nolte: Democrat-run Chicago Year-to-Date Crime Rate Up 97% Compared to 2021

Nolte: Cheaper to Drive Gas-Powered Car 100 Miles than Average Electric Car

January 30, 2023 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Thanks to skyrocketing electricity prices, it now costs more to drive the average electric vehicle 100 miles than it does to drive a gas-powered car the same distance. A report from the Anderson Economic Group (AEG) shows that driving a gas-powered car 100 miles costs an average of $11.29. However, the cost for people who drive electric vehicles and charge up at home is $11.60 per hundred miles. A little more expensive. But. For those electric car owners who use recharging stations, the average cost for 100 miles is substantially higher at $14.40. But at least you’re saving the planet, right? Oh, wait, you’re not saving the planet because most of the “clean” electricity you use to charge your eco-car comes from burning fossil fuels…so lol. From the AEG report: East Lansing, MI–January 24, 2023: 2022’s final quarter finally brought relief at the pump for drivers of traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles as the cost to drive 100 miles dropped by more … [Read more...] about Nolte: Cheaper to Drive Gas-Powered Car 100 Miles than Average Electric Car
