It is being reported that Luxshare has secured orders to manufacture two of the four iPhone 14 models expected to come out this year. Meanwhile, Pentagon is another huge supplier for the Cupertino giant. And it is believed that the two are facing a hard time keeping up with the schedule owing to the no-COVID policy in China. Apple’s reportedly flat iPhone production target for 2022 isn’t a great sign
Apple, one of the biggest tech companies on the planet, reportedly doesn’t think it’ll sell any more iPhones this year than it did last year, despite rumors that the iPhone 14 will come with some major improvements ( via MacRumors ). While it’s not necessarily a canary in the coal mine (or a Waffle House being closed ) that the world will keep getting worse, Apple predicting that sales of its most popular product won’t grow could be a sign that the company’s relatively pessimistic about the state of things in the near future. According to Bloomberg , the company is asking its suppliers to make around 220 million iPhones, which is similar to how many it requested in 2021. This runs contrary to some analysts’ predictions, which forecasted that Apple would need to make around 20 million more phones this year than it did last year. It’s easy to see why. The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to ditch the notch (meaning it’ll be very obvious who has the new phone and who doesn't, … [Read more...] about Apple’s reportedly flat iPhone production target for 2022 isn’t a great sign

apple: Epic Games challenges Apple again in App Store anti-trust case
SAN FRANCISCO: Epic Games , the maker of Fortnite game, has challenged Apple for its stand that third-party app stores would compromise the iPhone's security. In a fresh court filing, Epic said if Apple can allow sideloading on Mac devices and still call those computers secure, then surely it could do the same for iPhone. "For macOS Apple relies on security measures imposed by the operating system rather than the app store , and anotarisationa¿ programme that scans apps and then returns them to the developer for distribution," the new filing said. "The operating system Apple uses in its Mac computers (macOS) does not include the challenged restraints found in the iPhone operating system (iOS), and Apple publicly touts the Mac's security," read the filing. Apple also permits multiple alternative payment solutions in the App Store for apps selling physical goods, "confirming that the requirement to use Apple's in-app payment solution, IAP, for digital goods … [Read more...] about apple: Epic Games challenges Apple again in App Store anti-trust case
