It was a surprising addition to the Cupertino giant’s lineup, so it was a bit disappointing that there’s been no follow-up to the phone for the last three years since it was launched. But if recent news from reliable sources is any indication, it seems like the tech giant has finally decided to release the iPhone SE 2.According to a report from DigiTimes, Apple is planning to launch a line of smaller iPhones which many analysts perceive to be the next iPhone SE. Based on the report, the tech company is set to release a mobile phone that’s only 5.42-inches which is definitely smaller compared to current iPhone models and only a tad larger than the first SE.Some are speculating that the … [Read more...] about iPhone SE 2 Release, Specs: Apple’s Next Small iPhone Beautiful But Not Affordable
Apple's cheapest iPhone currently on sale is the 32GB iPhone 7, which retails for $449. While this seems like a reasonable deal – especially when you consider that Apple's priciest iPhone is $1.449 – it's a lot of money for old hardware. What Apple needs is a budget iPhone designed from the ground-up to be cheap yet functional. What we need is an iPhone SE 2. And there are plenty of rumors circulating to suggest that Apple has an updated version of the diminutive iPhone SE in the works. Must read: Apple products you shouldn't buy (February 2019 edition) The original iPhone SE dates back to the spring of 2016, and retailed for $399 for 16GB of storage. I wrote this way back in January of 2015, when I first started thinking that, what became iPhone X and iPhone XS, were the next inevitable steps forward in iPhone evolution: Imagine a future iPhone where the screen goes to the edge on both sides, disappearing not at the curve but as the curve. Imagine an iPhone where the FaceTime camera and earpiece take up almost no space, and the screen reaches almost all the way to the top. And imagine an iPhone where the Home button is replaced by some new technology that can still allow for a physical escape to a known state, that can still scan fingerprints and authenticate, but that also lets the screen reach almost all the way to the bottom. The crux of the idea was that people kept asking for a more modern 4-inch iPhone, but it occurred to me it wasn't the smaller screen size they really wanted, it was the smaller phone size, and if the screen went edge-to-edge, they … [Read more...] about iPhone SE 2: What happened to it and why?
The stars are out. Five of them, according to my colleague Jason Cipriani. In reviewing the iPhone XS Max, he describes it as "the future of the iPhone." What, though, do real people on the street think about this and its smaller sibling, the iPhone XS? I've spent the last couple of weeks asking people on both coasts. Also: iPhone XS Max first impressions: It's big, but not too bigNow, when I say people, I mean real people: The 99 percenters who are taken advantage of every day. They're bartenders, baristas, and store employees. They're those who can't throw their money around on just anything. Frankly, just about any human being I encountered was subject to a (polite, naturally) question about their thoughts on the new phone.Where's the Hologram? I began near my home in the Bay Area, shortly after the XS and XS Max launched. Some of the replies left me a touch quiet. "I'm not going to care until they make a hologram phone," Sherine, a Starbucks barista, told me with some venom. … [Read more...] about What real people think about the iPhone XS
