Iphone 8 rumours
APPLE is going bold with the camera design of its latest iPhone. An online leak suggests the iPhone 11 will come with a "cyclops" camera, a cutting edge design trend that shifts the rear snapper to the centre of the phone's back panel. In the past, Apple and other big phone makers have typically popped this camera in one of the gadget's rear corners. But according to reliable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, that will all change when Apple launches the iPhone 11 in September. He says the rear snapper is moving to the centre of the top of the handset. This would mark the first time Apple has ever moved the camera, having positioned at the top left of every smartphone it has made since the first iPhone. The world's most valuable company normally doesn't tinker too much with the design of the phone, so it's difficult to tell how close to the truth the rumour is. However, Apple has suddenly removed the iPhone's home button and headphone jack in recent years, so a camera change is not out of the … [Read more...] about iPhone 11 to get ‘cyclops’ camera and battery 2.5 times BIGGER than iPhone 8

My ZDNet DIY-IT and Government colleague David Gewirtz has a 128GB iPhone 6S Plus. He was on the upgrade program, and hasn't had to make a payment in almost two years. It still works … [Read more...] about Meet the new Diet iPhone: Could a fresh formula boost Apple’s bottom line?
APPLE may be preparing to create a "thinner, lighter" iPhone – possibly to appease people who think smartphones are just too big. A new report suggests Apple is redesigning the iPhone screen for 2019 to shave off some extra pounds. When the iPhone first launched, it was 11.6mm deep – about two pencils thick. For years after, Apple worked to make its iPhone thinner and thinner, trimming it down to just 7.1mm with 2015's iPhone 6S. But in the quest to add new features, the iPhone has grown flabby – the new iPhone XR is 8.3mm thick. Now Korean industry news site ETNews suggests Apple is working to slim down the 2019 iPhone. Today's iPhone XS has an OLED display, which produces images for you to see. But there's also a touch-sensitive layer, which is how the iPhone can register your taps. Each layer you have in a phone makes it thicker, so Apple is reportedly working to merge the OLED screen with the touch layer. This would save space, potentially allowing for the overall … [Read more...] about New iPhone 2019 to be ‘thinner and lighter’ after women slam Apple over ‘too big’ handsets
