Above a rear mounted fingerprint scanner will be a 13MP camera employing the Sony IMX278 sensor. Yesterday, we showed you a teaser posted by Huawei that hinted at the unveiling of the Huawei Mate 8 on September 2nd. The event is taking place in Berlin. This morning, the wind has shifted and there is speculation that instead of the Mate 8 being introduced in Berlin, we might see a premium version of the currently available Huawei Mate 7 instead. The rumor has the handset sporting a moniker like the Mate 7 Plus or the Mate 7s.One clue could be found in the translation of the teaser, which says that Huawei will "bring you a taste of the flagship flagship." That could indicate that a premium version of the Huawei Mate 7 will be unwrapped on September 2nd. But the genesis of this rumor really comes from the belief that the home-grown Kirin 950 SoC will be found inside the Huawei Mate 8.According to reports, the Kirin 950 chipset will not be available for use until after October.
