A "PAUSE" in global warming that took supposedly place between 1995 and 2013 has been "comprehensively disproved" by experts. Many scientists claimed that the Earth stopped cooking due to climate change for 15 years, but the theory has now been branded a myth. For years, deniers of global warming have been pointing to a "climate change hiatus". This period – believed to have lasted a decade and a half – was held up as evidence that humans might not be causing significant climate change. But a series of papers published in Environmental Research Letters lays the theory to test once and for all. "Many studies over the past decade have claimed to find a pause or slowdown in global warming and have typically posited this as evidence that is inconsistent with our understanding of global warming.," said Dr James Risbey, of CSIRO Australia, lead author on one of the studies. The study examined how scientists around the world defined the supposed "pause" in global warming. And it … [Read more...] about Global warming WORSE than we thought as famous ‘pause’ between 1995 and 2013 dismissed as ‘never real’ by experts

BRITISH workers could miss as many as 33 days of work a year as a result of climate change, a new study has found. The research also found that workers in developing countries could lose a maximum of 94 days a year, with nations in Southeast Asia being most severely affected. Publishing in the Journal of Cleaner Production, the team of researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences began their work with a survey of how many days of work high temperatures caused people to miss in 2016. In developed countries such as the UK and the US, the average worker currently loses 3.5 days of work a year as a result of 'heat stress,' which covers sickness caused by excessive heat. In the developing world this average is 6.6 days, yet the researchers calculated that this is set to rise under all four of the main climate-change scenarios set out by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). If the worst-case scenario of a 4C rise by 2100 is realised, people in the developed … [Read more...] about Britons could miss 33 days of work a year due to global warming
If you're planning a haunted house this Halloween, you might want to set aside a room dedicated to America's real greatest fear. It could look a little bit like the U.S. Capitol. For the fourth year running, a university survey has found that nothing scares Americans more than corrupt government officials. According to Chapman University, 73.6 percent of Americans report being "afraid" or "very afraid" of government corruption, more than any other fear on the menu. But that's not the only thing keeping Americans up at night. [Spooky Sites: 7 of the Most Haunted Places in the United States] Compared to previous years, Americans are increasingly stressed about environmental degradation. Five of the top-10 fears on the list have to do with the environment, from the pollution of oceans, rivers and lakes (fear No. 2) to global warming and climate change (fear No. 9). Every year, Chapman University commissions a survey of a sample of 1,190 American adults, chosen to reflect the country's … [Read more...] about What Are Americans Most Afraid Of? A NEW report suggests that "rapid and far-reaching" changes are needed to combat the catastrophic impact of climate change. But what exactly is global warming, and what impact is it having on our planet? Here's what we know about the man-made crisis and what's being done to fight it. What is global warming and what caused it? Global warming describes a set of changes to the climate that is causing Earth to heat up. This rising of the Earth's temperature is often talked about in the context of the "greenhouse effect" to explain the damage being wreaked on our planet. Without the greenhouse effect the Earth's surface would be an average of about 60 degrees Fahrenheit cooler, and therefore unlivable. The effect allows gases in but keeps heat from escaping from the earth, like the glass walls of a greenhouse. However, over the past century humans have aggravated the greenhouse effect by dramatically increasing the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Human sources of CO2 come from … [Read more...] about What is global warming, what causes it and what effect is it having on earth?

It does exist, you'd have to be in denial to ignore the copious scientific evidence by now. posted on 22 Sep 2011, 04:47 4 2. PeterIfromsweden (Posts: 1230; Member since: 03 Aug 2011) A). I don't believe in global warming. It doesn't exist. Sure there might be some things humans are doing that is not good for the enivornment, but caliming there is global warming is going too far. posted on 22 Sep 2011, 05:10 3 4. Mike (unregistered) A) "Climate change" tends to be the preferred term as not everywhere is actually warming. There really is no debate that it exist (except amongst the uneducated masses). The debate is the cause (humans or natural earth cycle). 5. PeterIfromsweden (Posts: 1230; Member since: 03 Aug 2011) B) maybe the iphone should be compared to a Lada ? 9. taco5O.
