The median US home price is about $280,000, according to Zillow, but some lavish homes currently on the market cost much more than that — millions and millions more, in some cases. We're talking about the true-blue, creepy-as-can-be haunted houses. The houses where local residents claim they hear voices and where serial killers dumped their victims. The places that carry legends of entire families vanishing into thin air and serve as a backdrop for murders and suicides. Photographer Seph Lawless braved these collapsing and dilapidated buildings for his new photo book, "13: Hauntingly Beautiful," to show us how creepy these places are. Captioned with the photos are the urban legends and tales Lawless heard about the houses photographed, coupled with information from some corroborating news reports. By Mikey Campbell Thursday, October 11, 2018, 03:28 am PT (06:28 am ET) Apple is investing a total of $600 million to license patents, purchase assets and transfer employees from Dialog Semiconductor, a European chipmaker and existing business partner that entered Apple's supply chain with the the first iPhones a decade ago. Dialog announced the agreement in a press release on Thursday (PDF link), saying Apple will pay $300 million to license power management technologies and acquire more than 300 employees, many of whom already work closely with Apple on various projects. The deal also covers Dialog facilities in the U.K., Italy and Germany. Another $300 million outlay is going toward other Dialog assets and products to be delivered over the next three years. At $600 million, the deal stands as one of Apple's largest investments in an outside company.
