DOJ: Outsourcing Firm Discriminated Against Americans, Offering Tech Jobs Only to Foreign H-1B Visa Workers

June 28, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

A California-based outsourcing firm discriminated against Americans for information technology (IT) jobs in the United States, preferring to hire only foreign workers imported on H-1B visas, a Department of Justice (DOJ) settlement reveals. This month, federal prosecutors announced a settlement with SpringShine Consulting Inc. for soliciting employment applications for IT jobs in the U.S. exclusively from foreign H-1B visa workers. According to the settlement, SpringShine sought employment applications on a job recruiting website — seeking foreign IT consultants only on H-1B visas. The recruitment post excluded all other job applicants, most notably qualified Americans. “Employers that discourage applicants based on their citizenship or immigration status, or save certain employment opportunities only for applicants who require sponsorship to work in the United States, violate the law and must be held accountable,” the Justice Department’s Kristen Clarke said in a statement. … [Read more...] about DOJ: Outsourcing Firm Discriminated Against Americans, Offering Tech Jobs Only to Foreign H-1B Visa Workers

Durbin, Tillis Use Migrant Deaths to Revive Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) are reportedly in talks to revive negotiations over a plan that would give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens living in the United States. This week, as Breitbart News reported , 51 border crossers died in an abandoned tractor-trailer in an apparent human smuggling operation along the United States–Mexico border near San Antonio, Texas. Since President Joe Biden took office, at least 650 border crossers have died trying to cross the border —  a record-breaking figure since the data started being tracked in 2014. Now, Durbin tells Politico he hopes to use the migrant deaths to revive amnesty negotiations with Tillis. Both Durbin and Tillis sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee and also sought to revive amnesty talks in April. “We’ve been talking the last couple days about reviving that effort,” Durbin told Politico. “And I think what happened at the border with finding 51 dead migrants in that tractor-trailer is what I … [Read more...] about Durbin, Tillis Use Migrant Deaths to Revive Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

Leaders from the Group of Seven (G7) nations on Sunday announced a $600 billion infrastructure plan for developing nations – a program clearly intended to compete with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Germany’s Deutsche Welle heard signals from the G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps that their plan would provide financial benefits to developing countries without the debt traps and political interference that characterize China’s loans: Beijing has been accused of trapping low-income countries into unaffordable debts to be part of its trillion-dollar BRI push, which is seen as expanding China’s trade power with Africa, Asia and Europe. The new G7 fund will focus on climate initiatives, among other projects, including a $2 billion solar farm investment in Angola, $320 million for hospital construction in Ivory Coast and $40 million to promote regional energy trade in Southeast Asia. EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said G7 was offering “sustainable, … [Read more...] about G7 Leaders Debate Alternative to China’s Belt and Road Debt Traps
