If you're a wildlife enthusiast, you're probably aware of the live video streams available on Africam , the ad-supported 'profit-for-purpose' website that's dedicated to showcasing African wildlife and increasing conservation awareness. Samsung Mobile has teamed up with Africam to launch Wildlife Watch , a two-month pilot project running until 2 May that gives anyone with an internet connection the chance to monitor live video from Balule Nature Reserve in South Africa, report any suspicious incidents, and donate to support the Black Mambas Anti-Poaching Unit . The latter is a pioneering all-female, unarmed, team of rangers who patrol the 500 square kilometres of the Balule reserve daily, checking for poachers and evidence of their activities such as wire snares and fence break-ins. Google today announced that it’s adding a popular customer request to its Google TV software: separate profiles for kids. Kid profiles will let you choose which apps are available to young viewers. If a Google account for the child already exists, you can add that as a kid profile — but a Google account is not required ; you can also create a profile simply by adding a child’s name and age. Similar to Google TV for adults, kids will see rows of recommended, age-appropriate shows to watch. You can also opt to share movies and TV shows you’ve already purchased to the kid profile with Google Play Family Library. At least now you won’t have to deal with kiddie content infiltrating your own recommendations. It sure sounds like Google is recommitting to the TV space with Google TV—a renamed, revamped version of Android TV. In addition to the new content-centric (instead of app-centric) home screen, watch list, and an upcoming " dumb TV " mode, Google is now revamping parental control support . The new "kids profiles" will turn on a fun, kid-friendly UI with themes like "dinosaurs," "space," and "under the sea." The big, new feature of Google TV—content-centric recommendations—will kick over into a kids-friendly mode, too, pushing educational content to the home screen. Parental control functionality looks pretty much the same as in Android TV, with parents able to set limitations on total screen time, bedtime, and individual apps. The big difference is the interface, which has a friendlier UI that doesn't look like a system administrator panel anymore.
